More likely than unlikely, but then again after Dragon Ball, it's a hard sell. This is the type of anime I could see making it in Hollywood. Has anyone seen Pacific Rim? I haven't but wondered about how it looked visually to see if the mecha genre could be doable these days. I saw someone mentioned a Gundam movie but it didn't look like time/money/effort was put into it. I assume the OP was intending on a far larger budget.

Anime I think only works live action if the story can stand on its own. I think pure action genres and slice of life genres are the only types that don't require much intro to be adapted. Most anime would fail because they aren't just medium driven, they are story driven. Just about every episode matters so things can't be left out. Personally I think that's what doomed ATLA from the start, the moment they thought they'd pull off condensing an entire season into a single movie.

I get the feeling they'll add the "important" parts without adding the truly important parts of the series.
Aside from that, they'll need actors who can not only look the part but act it as well.

I completely agree, no anime should be made into a movie by Hollywood.

I could see them doing justice to Ghost in the Shell if we ever go through a hardcore cyberpunk phase. And Black Lagoon is a possibility, although Hollywood leans more towards solo protagonists instead of ensemble casts in those kind of films. Berserk would be pretty easy conceptually, although it'd be a huge project to get done right. And then there's Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Attack on Titan.

Sword of the Stranger would also be a pretty straightforward adaptation I think.

They did a spectacular job with the jaegers imo. Pacific Rim was effectively a live-action anime in a lot of ways.

Jojo`s Bizarre Adventure

If the director etc are in the same league as those that did Scott Pilgrim and The Lord of the Rings and they made their powers look as believable as recent super hero movies, it would be amazing.
I'd still like Steel Ball Run done instead of starting at Part 1, though. It parodies of some of the most iconic movies out there.

It'd be awesome. No hollywood movie has ever parodied super hero movies, westerns, rock music, the Da Vinci Code, and Jurassic Park at the same time (and in an epic way).

.. they could even throw in a flash back of DIO as a vampire before the entire universe was redone. Show people that Bram Stoker's Dracula isn't the only well-done vampire out there.

The Jojo series is the most Hollywood inspired manga/anime I've ever known. So, the reverse with a great director and great budget would be amazing

Live action Attack on Titian with Daniel Radcliffe as Levi and Tom Hiddleston as Erwin.

That would be awesome. Either of those in any of anything, actually, is awesome. But in Attack on Titan...

Cowboy Bebop. Maybe the Main actor of 47 Ronin gets his money from the movie maybe he can get it done.

Initial D would be nice. Aot and a Break Blade adaption would be cool too. Though something I would be totally rooting for is a season 1 Darker than Black adaption. Also, I'd want actual ASIAN actors to play ASIAN parts, not this 47 Ronin B.S.
