If you decided to buy an item from an online store that was 30% cheaper than the retail price and the delivery time estimate was X amount of weeks. How many week would you be willing to wait until you say to yourself "I can't wait that long, I'll just go buy it at the local store"?

So this has happened to me recently. I decided to go buy Berserk volumes 1-6 retail price online was $17.50(Actually the book says $16.99 So Place that shall not be named had them for 5-6 dollars cheaper(Roughly 30%). However, the Place that shall not be named that I buy my manga from usually arrive 1-2 weeks. Now when I go to buy these berserk volumes I look at the estimated delivery time. Not only were the book deliveries inconsistent, The estimated delivery time was either 4-8 weeks, 2-4 months, or 5-8 weeks. I was like WTF mate. So i decided to order them through my local comic shop (I'm a regular so I got a gold card that saves me 15% so whatever.) I usually get my orders that i place within 2-3 weeks. I just got my volumes last Wednesday, super excited and it took about 2 and a half weeks.

I place the question first cause that's probably why your here. I also was procrastinating on which forum to put this in. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place.

It depends on its level of importance.

I consider my computer important. I spend all day on it, every day, but I already have one and it's working. So when I need to upgrade, I don't mind waiting a month. It's when shit breaks down, and I'm without a computer that I get antsy and rush it.

I consider my girlfriend important. And if she has me by the balls, and there's something I know of that will get us closer together, then I will throw money at it like a moron. Money I don't have. I'm not talking about impractical gifts. An example would be that if I didn't have a phone I would have to buy one, immediately. And if I didn't have the money for it, I would borrow it. Price? I don't care. The most expensive one, or the cheapest one. Whatever is available.

I consider my sister important. If she called me and said that she needed me there, I would drop everything and buy an airplane ticket on the day that she called, and travel on that same day, or if there were no flights for that day I would book one for next day and sleep at the airport. And I might not be able to pay rent next month, but to hell with that.

I usually buy manga from Amazon because I'm a cheap skate and since some of their mangas are eligible for Prime [one day free delivery] I get it the next day. The max I would wait for something is probably 1 week because I'm impatient

To be honest, I really don't mind waiting a little longer to get a lower price for anything unless there's a specific reason I need it fast, which there rarely is. The only problem I tend to have is actually kinda in the opposite direction; if I order something and it takes a long time to arrive, rather than being impatient I often forget about it or lose my anticipation while waiting.

Depends on where you get it from. Over a month wait is too much for me.

Your telling me. I hate having to wait 3 to 4 months after ordering my figurines from Goodsmile Co. for them just to be shipped. And then I have to wait about another 10 days or so for it to arrive. But the ordering window is only open for about 3 weeks.

It sure does, however, beat having to pay 2 to 3 times the original cost when buying from a third party like amazon or ebay. (not to mention the chance for getting fakes...)

I don't really care how long it takes, as long as it arrives.
I've ordered things on yesstyle.com that took about 3 months to arrive

It depends on the item. Some stuff you simply can't get in a local area so I'll wait as long as it takes. For example, I'm ordering a microphone for christmas. In England it would retail at £450 but from the US Amazon I can get it for just over £200 i.e. less than half price. I also don't know of any microphone stores near me so I'd happily wait for it as long as I need to. If it's something really important like a PC I like to have it in at least a week since it's one of the most important items I own.

i don't really care about the waiting times as I don't even open some of the manga/anime I bought. *Collector's mentality*

i just like cheaper things. and also, I can't buy certain yaoi titles in australia as they're not available here, so have to order them online. like junjou romantica manga xD

I don't usually have a problem with waiting longer. It's just that it seem to make predicting the day of its arrival more difficult.

For some unjustifiable reason, my family hates when I buy things online. I like being present to receive the package as it arrives so I can conceal the fact that I bought something. I can't even buy a book without them nagging me about identity theft and scams....

...this sounds like a math problem. I would order online since it's fun to get things in the mail randomly its like a gift for yourself, especially when you forget you ordered it in the first place. Plus if onlines cheaper I'd go with it.

They have the Junjou Romantica manga in Australia! I saw it a few years back at a Borders Bookshop.... lol

Any shop with a good section of Manga should have it since it's pretty popular in the genre:)

I actually opened it to see what it was about, not realising it was a Yaoi and suddenly there's an ass in full view of everyone in the manga section... including my mother lol

Well this got off topic, to get back on topic:

I don't mind waiting a while for something as long as gets here eventually. For instance I waited nearly 2 months for Tales of Graces F to arrive due to an accident at the shop it was shipping from!

Unless it's something urgent of course, like if it was a birthday present, etc, I'd order it and I'd even pay extra for express postage.

(Because there isn't anything worth buying in BEGA... Stupid hick town
