Anime is a guilty pleasure. The only anime I will admit to watching around friends and family are Jojo and TTGL.

In all honesties, I don't think my parents really care, but sometimes they really try to understand it which can be bothersome because uh some of the animes i watch are a well 'bit' hard to understand...

I wished my parents approved of it but sadly they don't.
They are too traditional and think its a waste of my life.
But all my brothers and sisters watch so its not that bad.

I suppose my mom sees when I mention an anime on FB, but being fifty I can pretty much watch what I want.

They absolutely hate the fact that i like it. They use the term "gay" to describe anime. they also thought it would consume my life, and make me want to stay inside all day and live with them until i was 40. Boy, did I prove them wrong. But I do tend to stay inside when I'm not in class or working...

My step mom doesn't mind. Oh, but my dad? He literally smashed my computer to pieces as soon as he saw me playing H-games or reading my manga. I'm still scared to tell him how much anime means to me.

I can't wait, but in a few months I will live in my own apartment as soon as I got from college straight to a university.

My mom doesn't really care, luckily! She just reminds me gently to think of school first, not my "Japanese cartoons." She also shares a similar love for Mandarin historical dramas, so she's pretty understanding! As for my dad, he really likes Naruto and Avatar the Last Airbender (the latter does count as anime, right?). And he also loves to learn bits and pieces of Japanese.

My mum doesnt care really, although she wants to go to a convention with me. It would be pretty embarrassing though.

My Family always picks on me and asks me why I sit in my room all day watching cartoon porn. They will never understand the difference it seems.

My dad finds it a little weird, since it comes from a different culture, and as others above have mentioned, he tends to make fun of it a lot of times (all in fun though, not a mean way... doesn't mean it isn't annoying sometimes though). But my mom is a little understanding of it. Most of the manga I read and anime I watch is shonen (occasionally seinen) and most of them in some form or fashion have a moral or things in them that contribute toward possitive attitudes, so she tends to be ok with it.
