Definitely. I'd keep it simple. Something like "Sora" or "Hikaru"…

I thought "Norrin" would be a nice name (from Norrin Radd aka Silver Surfer)...

Only possible way I would is if I had the child with a Japanese girl and she wanted to do it. So hoping for a Japanese girl because chances are my kid will have some German or Irish - esque name, probably while i'm hammered...

No, my kids will get an Arabic name, like I have. I'm particularly fond of the names Shaymaa (شيماء) and Haneen (حنين)‎, for girls; Ray'yan (ريان) and Haruun (هارون) for boys.

As mentioned several times before, best way to do it and imo if the other half was Japanese. Once again mentioned before, the kid has to go to high school (not saying they will get beat up) will just be awkward if they do not possess any of the heritage meanwhile the full bred ones who have the name actually suits them. Other than that, I would feel my parents love for anime destroyed my social career lol

Yea, I hope to give my daughter the name Nagisa, from Clannad, I love the anime a lot, and the name Nagisa sounds nice, so i hope to do so, unless my future wife calls me crazy and decides to name her something plain.

I don't care what I name my child. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS.

I'd do it, but would likely need a Japanese wife to do so. It'd probably need to be a more subtle name too, one that you'd probably not be able to tell had a Japanese origin, but I guess that'd defeat the purpose.

Of course my perspective is probably a bit different, mainly because of my own experiences with names. Being mexican, I have a genuine spanish name. However, my mother is native american and doesn't speak spanish, so I got this goofy nickname growing up. Long story short, it led to a lot of ridicule when I was growing up, and I'll be damn sure I don't do the same to my child.

Possibly, but only if the name doubles as an American name with a different spelling like Hana, Sera, or Reina/Rena. I wouldn't give my kid an outright Japanese name like like Sora, Yuki or Hikaru. No, just no.

Besides, my go-to choices would be Nasette (girl) or Rein (boy), since they're from my origins. (Irish/German)

you know what, I heard on the news once that some people once named their kid Nascar. So naming your kid a name froma diff culture cant be as bad as naming your kid after a sport
