I'd love to but I'd also like to make sure the name isn't something too far fetched, school is tough enough without my child getting bullied for having an odd name.

Hopefully I can get me a nice japanese man ;)

I like these names for a girl:
Ulla
Mana
Misuzu
Rukia
Kirino
Ayase
Setsuna
Ai
Sasara
Ushio
Kanade
Kaede
Rin

I've always wished to call my child Asuna though!

For boys I like:
Kyousuke
Yukio
Riki
Kojou
Kaname
Youhei
Rin
Yukito
Youhei
Kizuna
Kazuto

That list entirely except I would add Namine to the list of female names because Kingdom Hearts is awesome and so is that name

I don't exactly plan on having children, but...If I were to give my child a Japanese name, it would have to be under certain circumstances. Such as if my spouse were Japanese or if I lived in Japan where my child would grow up. Otherwise, I see it being highly unlikely. On a side note, I'm fond of the name Rin for either a boy or girl.

I probably wouldn't unless I married a Japanese girl (I like japanese names but otherwise that would expose the poor kid to too much ridicule.... kids can be really mean you know)

Maybe. But I will give them a weird name. I already have their middle name picked out. Tepes.

Not for me. If I were to have children, I won't be looking at names in specific languages, just whatever fits. I probably will chose an alternative Chinese/Taiwanese name though for my child since I'm Taiwanese and I don't want my children to lose that heritage.

But my personal belief is that there is not such a thing as language to a name... unless you are planning to register that name in that written language. Example: Shun, it can be Japanese... or it could be Chinese; in fact, it's also an English word. But if you use specific characters, Japanese kanji or Chinese hanzi, suddenly that name is owned by that language. I've met a girl name Midori, but her name came from Swedish, not Japanese. There are names of "origin" but that's tricky because of language history (which I won't go into).

For those TL;DR:
So yeah, my two cent. I don't look down or disapprove of people wanting to intentionally name non-Japanese children with "Japanese" sounding names, it's just a little limiting in my opinion. But what the hearts wants, the heart will want.

Not really. Although Japanese names are really nice sounding, I don't want to be THAT parent, aha...

Yes, definitely. LOL xD

Why would I ever want to give my child a name that doesn't fit his ethnicity? I consider it really awkward and strange.

It would be weird unless your spouse was Japanese. I'd rather not do something to my child that would attract a lot of attention towards him/her.
