Has anyone else ever had a experience and couldn't tell if it was real or it just happened in a dream? If so, what happened that you couldn't tell if it was real or not? How did you feel? Did you try to find out if it was real?

It is such a weird phenomenon. I am just in a confused fog right now.

I remember when I was getting into anime and I finished Strawberry Panic and I wasn't so fond of the ending and I thought I saw that there was another like 10 episodes then I woke up and realized that its never going to continue.

well there are memories from when i was really little that i think are actually dreams.

i also had one of those anime-esque dreams where i dreamt that I started dating the girl i liked and was at school with her - it was very realistic, but unfortunately, unlike in anime, it didn't actually happen i was quite sad when i woke up...

Sometimes I get so dizzy my vision blurs out for 30 seconds to a minute. Afterwords my senses are numb and everything feels fake.

On the actual dream side of things, as a child I suffered from reoccurring nightmares. Every time I fell asleep I had one. Scared the living crap out of me, to a point that I hated to go to sleep. And the dreams were usually surreal. Others were scary in a stupid, dream realization kind of way. (As for the most part I knew I was dreaming) One time I was traveling along a road with a bunch of heroes who were beating the crap out of plant monsters, awhile later I decide to head back as I had thought to myself 'I just know there is going to be something around the corner that is going to kill me, so I'll just head back'. But to my dismay, I met with the respawned plant monster the heroes defeated earlier, and died. After that the 'camera'/perspective zoomed out and a little circle with a Mario-esque Piranha Plant laughing at me popped up in the upper left corner before I woke up.

never had anything like that.

while i'm dreaming, of course i think it's real. but when I wake up, it's no longer real.

i hate incest dreams, because it's something i'd never do, but yet i'm doing it. also hate when I dream of killing people too -_-, not enemies or anything, just random people pop up in my dreams, and I kill them... ? don't know why.

i also dream of being pregnant... scared the shit out of me...

Yeah, had a dream where my mom was killed right in front of me, had a funeral and everything. Woke up in tears.

. . .

Someone please take my memories away.

Some of my dreams aren't dreams. I have "woken up" to "find" spiders on my bed and proceed to remove them and go back to sleep. Crazy how everything makes sense when you sleepwalk.

a little side question: has anyone had that feeling when you are about to fall asleep that you are going to fall and then "react" to prevent the "fall"?

I had a dream recently that I woke up exactly where I had laid down and a buddy from another state had came over without me inviting him over, he continued to just make himself at home and I was really confused. When I looked at him he started to change, he lost his hair and got fat... It freaked me out so I went to the bathroom where I almost passed out so I went back into my room to go to sleep again and I laid down exactly where I had been this whole time, closed my eyes and woke up where I had fallen asleep in the dream. I almost went completely insane after I woke up. I hated that night.

Those " too good to be true" dreams are the worst! Especially when it comes to material things and when you mastered the art of flying from doing simple things lol

Fake memories like that are actually very common, and typically, your brain convinces you they were real, even if they weren't. So, people have these fake memories that they might have dreamed up or something and don't even know it. It's usually nothing too severe, just minor details or small events, but it does sound scary, doesn't it?

Personally, I've had quite a few times where I question if something I'm remembering really happened or not. Ironically, I can't recall a specific example right now.

Used to happen a lot. And then I started drinking and it mostly stopped.

Usually I notice when I get intense and overwhelming feelings of deja vu in some situation that seems ordinary enough. I'd freak out inside and lose the ability to focus on the task at hand. I'll dream of small stuff that seems to be in the future, like the way I write a letter on a paper of a certain color or the way I arrange food on a platter at someone's house. It was really weird and trippy. Sometimes the feeling is so powerful that I become unsure whether I am in a dreaming state, the event already happened in a dream or real life, or I'm seeing something that I will do in the future.

Drinking seems to have cured me of this. I'm not sure if it will start again if I stop drinking.
