Had a dream once where for a few minutes getting ready for school I was convinced my boyfriend and I were still dating. It wasn't until I was on the bus that I realized we'd broken up months ago. I cried all day and everybody kept asking me what was wrong, but I didn't tell them because of how embarrassing that was.

Not my proudest moment.

I had a dream about my mom putting a brand-new Maglite in my closet while I was half awake, watching from bed.

Woke up, went to check out my Maglite, and found nothing.

The worst part was that I really wanted a Maglite (they are rad).

sometimes the world feels unnatural and fake.....

this has happened to me alot, if i enter my bedroom after being out with my friends for the day i would suddenly get the feeling that the room is fake and something is not right.... so i pinch my self to see if i'm in a dream.

this tends to happen quite alot now i think about it!

is it just me
or are there people who have the same symptoms as me?

Last night I had a dream, was at this run down circus and all the clowns and whatnot were killing people, harvesting their organs then putting them into burgers and force fed them to everybody.. I noticed it wasn't real when I woke up hungry for breakfast. I'm not even joking, I have VERY weird dreams every now and again where if I am in the dream and realize that I am.. I'd try to wake myself up.

I had a dream demons were trying to steal my soul, but then I woke up and ran into the next room, panting. Turns out, that was also part of the dream.

when i was little i had this dream that i was in a forest, and there was a cottage, a little waterfall, and stream nearby. i was by myself and i heard someone calling my name, like my parents, but when i went to look for them i woke up. it felt so real. then just recently i mentioned the dream to my mom because i never forgot it, and she described that place to me the same exact way it was in my dream. she said it was my grandparents old cottage they used to visit in the summer, and that i had been there once when i was very young. it was so weird

I have this issue often. It's because my dreams seems so real. I have to ask people if I really called them on the phone or if I was dreaming. Sure, they look at me weird but its one way of knowing for sure. :/

I have dreams every night. Sometimes they are lucid but I can't control them, I just know im dreaming. So in a few of these "lucid" ones I would live out a life sometimes years long and accept it as the real world since I hadn't returned to this one. Everytime I got to the point of acceptance I would wake up but be in a very hazy state. This state I can't describe well but imagine looking around at everything and feeling nothing/ confused. It takes me about an hour of just sitting there to grasp that this is reality again. Granted this only happens about two times a year but everytime it does I can remember the life vividly and it is scary in a sense. Sorry if this sounds weird to any of you but I thought it would be interesting to share it.

me and a friend were once reminiscing about some fun times, i start talking about some occasion and she gives me a really puzzled+confused look... and tells me 'that never happened.. sure it was me?" I think a while.. and realized it must've been something i dreamed off.

And.. this happens a LOT with me. Which is really strange because my dreams are nearly always really trippy. ,,,which i guess could explain why i confuse my slightly more grounded in reality dreams with reality =_=

It used to happen to me all the time. And I had such weird-ass dreams (that for some reason still felt real) sometimes... Though lately I haven't dreamt in a while.

Has anyone else ever had a experience and couldn't tell if it was real or it just happened in a dream?

The in-between state right as you're waking up is one of the weirdest natural human states. You can look and feel perfectly awake but still hallucinate things for a few seconds (or sometimes even longer). It's very common.

I have a friend who would always have these weird issues. If I was staying over at his place, and I would go wake him up for some reason, he wouldn't be awake. He would seem awake, but he would respond to my questions in ways that just didn't *quite* make sense. Like when his brother woke him up to ask where the keys were, and he responded that they were "under the fan". This led to a whole argument that only ended when he finally woke up for real.

I often wake up to an extremely loud bang that didn't really happen. The first few times it happneed, I was concerned and uncertain, but since then, after other people confirmed for me that there was no actual bang, I've come to accept that it's just a stupid annoying thing my brain does. I looked it up and apparently this is a common thing.

Finally: what I *really* hate is when I realize I might be dreaming, then try to wake myself up just to check. Sure enough, I wake myself up, and it's 5 in the morning, and I can't get back to sleep again. Dang it!!
