Did that really happen or was it just a dream?

It hasn't happened in many years since I put the Fungi and the Famous Grouse down.May they rest in peace.

To me it's more like I don't really exist, or as if I walk in and out of existence. Every time I look myself in the mirror I wonder where I've been, where I am, and how I got there. Like trying to remember a dream I once had, or remember when I had it.

I was incredibly ill once, and during my fever stage I went to bed, and passed out. When I woke up all I could see was static and pretty much went blind. They called the doctor round once, and apparently I started spouting random nonsense and cried, and I can still remember the static and how I heard voices at this time. It was a horrible experience and only I seem to remember it. I wonder if it did happen or not sometimes.

Has anyone else ever had a experience and couldn't tell if it was real or it just happened in a dream?

The in-between state right as you're waking up is one of the weirdest natural human states. You can look and feel perfectly awake but still hallucinate things for a few seconds (or sometimes even longer). It's very common.

I have a friend who would always have these weird issues. If I was staying over at his place, and I would go wake him up for some reason, he wouldn't be awake. He would seem awake, but he would respond to my questions in ways that just didn't *quite* make sense. Like when his brother woke him up to ask where the keys were, and he responded that they were "under the fan". This led to a whole argument that only ended when he finally woke up for real.

I often wake up to an extremely loud bang that didn't really happen. The first few times it happneed, I was concerned and uncertain, but since then, after other people confirmed for me that there was no actual bang, I've come to accept that it's just a stupid annoying thing my brain does. I looked it up and apparently this is a common thing.

Finally: what I *really* hate is when I realize I might be dreaming, then try to wake myself up just to check. Sure enough, I wake myself up, and it's 5 in the morning, and I can't get back to sleep again. Dang it!!

About the "just waking up" it is the same in-between state as "just about to fall asleep". It is weird that you bring it up hallucinations right when you are waking up, because that is what happens to me!!

I hallucinated a hand sized spider right when I wake up some times... I thought there was a huge mother fucking spider in my room for a week, until it went technicolored. I looked for the damn thing for hours each day until that happened. After it went techicolored I thought I was going insane before I googled it and learned that it was common.
