My exact thoughts, why do people enjoy being labeled as "consumers" so much? We only exist as profit-making slaves for the higher classes, it's kinda disgusting.

yep thats how it's always been since mankind has existed and thats it's always going to be

Amazon does crazy good deals Black Friday, no need to wait till Cyber Monday especially for video games and movies I'll probably still do Best Buy at Midnight for some stuff.

You have the kind of brain that falls for this kind of stuff so i don't blame you for being so primitive as to think human existence is about as worthless as to buy slave made products just to extend globalization. Consumerism was introduced in around the 1920's, but it only harms the world more by increasing slavery in foreign countries, causing a disease called industry to engrowth the planet, use up valuable resources and make human indentity nothing more than an incarnation of the things you buy. If only people would go this mad over something that actually mattered.

I understand that buying things is neccesary for us, but becoming lost in it is dangerous, it's only an object after all... you pretty much become an object yourself if you're given this role of consumer and you play it with the hope of getting some happiness that will never appear. That's called gluttony and it really destroys your potential as a human, next time you spend thousands on items ask what you're trading in for it.

I find it weird cause I don't remember hearing about "Black Friday" when I was growing up. I never participated in Black Friday, I never even gave it more than a thought. I worked for Radioshack one year for the holidays and I had to loose out on most of my Thanksgiving, all so I can wake up to do a 13 hour shift that began at 3am . Granted, the pay was good but it still wasn't worth loosing out on quality time with my family. After that experience, combined with the the constant horror stories I hear about the horrible treatment of the workers and the violence that occurs from angry shoppers, I will NEVER participate in a Black Friday sale. Which really should just be called Thanksgiving Day sale since stores are now opening on Thanksgiving now (SMH) ridiculous

It sucks that we don't get black friday up here , but Cyber monday Fixes that for me . Plus our Black Friday is right after christmas (Boxing day). Not as rough but still really hectic.

There was one year that I worked at WalMart and had to be there Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday... no way am I going to be responsible for making someone else have to work at a retail store on a holiday. Stores keep opening earlier every year because we keep buying their crap without concern for the employees. Stay at home with your families, stuff your face with turkey, and go to bed people. The sales are hardly ever worthwhile and usually they can be found throughout the holidays and online anyways.
