I definitely have no plans to go out shopping or camp out for Black Friday. I don't really like to shop when the malls or stores are super packed. It takes away the enjoyment of shopping lol

This. ...And I never understood waiting outside in line for 2+ hours to get into a store. Especially in my area where it could be less than 30 degrees outside. Stand outside in the cold for hours? No thanks

CR is probably gathering some metadata observing how its members function as they await the All-Access Membership Black Friday Deal.

Making us wait and measuring our aberrant behavior. Teasing us with all these other deals. Stop I can't wait anymore.

Sorry, not interested in watching d-bags without any class, knocking even little children down and stepping all over them to get a damn item that was slashed 90% off.

At least there's so such thing as black friday in supermarkets. (or is there?)

What is this "Black Friday"? I'm too lazy to google it.

I wonder was it this Friday or the next Friday. I never bought anything on Black Friday, but I have thought of it. Plus, I hope no one got hurt again by rude and crazy people fighting over items in the store. Ridiculous how people act on Black Friday. :T

I won't be camping at any stores, but I'll be checking Amazon and other online sites for any good deals.

yeah most deals stores are offering are offered online at amazon etc.
so sometimes you don't even have to wait outside a store in freezing temperatures

Yup, I want to get some items on Black Friday...but I want to shop online.

You can't get tased or arrested for aggressiveness if you shop online. The people in my neighborhood need to get some sense.

I really want a PS4, but I probably can't because people are going to be out way before me.

There is a secret to black Friday that a lot of people don't know: It is bullshit.

Listen, those stores will NOT take a loss. They would not cut such "deals" if they weren't making money. You might get $100 off a tv, but the cables, surge protectors, and other necessary gear will more than make up for the reduction.

PLUS they jack the prices before the sales so that the sales look bigger than they are.

PLUS most of the sales are on old, overstocked, or low quality models. Sure Walmart is selling a 50" LCD tv for $200, but it sure isn't going to be a Sony. It will be the cheapest brand with the lowest refresh rate and contrast ratio in the store. Unless you are ridiculously lucky, it will burn out in a year and you'll be back next black Friday to spend even MORE money. Either that OR they intentionally deplete their inventory so they are "sold out" of the on-sale model and upsale people into other, more expensive crap they don't need.

So instead of getting caught in traffic, being mobbed by people, and generally contributing to the decline of society with materialistic douchebaggery, be patient and keep an eye on the prices of quality products. Waiting for a reasonable price and spending a little more on a quality product that you keep a long time is MUCH cheaper in the long run than buying into the black Friday BS. And remember, if one store can afford to cut a deal, another store can afford to cut that same deal (all the products are coming from the same manufacturer anyway).

Don't get too excited. It isn't really a "deal" or a "bargain" except for those who are getting dividend checks from their stocks.
