What was that anime with the cursed school where someone always died… that was a pretty stupid plot imo…

For some reason, they wouldn't just shut down the school. And they don't just leave town...

I had to drop the show because of this glaring hole… maybe there was an explanation given later… too little too late for me.

EDIT: The anime is Another.

ANY Slice-of-Life anime could be tossed in here, since the plots are about people going about their normal daily lives. not saying the genre is bad or anything.

I'm confused by this statement. How can you just throw the whole entire genre of Slice of Life into the category of having a bad plot? I won't say that there haven't been any BAD Slice of Life anime (the one that comes to mind being Chronicles of Going Home Club). But I can name tons of Slice of Life shows that have been pretty amazing compared to others I've seen (Anohana, Working!, Silver Spoon, etc.).

I'm not hating, everyone has their own opinion, but I'm curious to why you'd wanna group them all into having a bad plot.

as I said in that post, the entire story boils down to people living out their daily lives. it's pretty bad, when you think about it. I'm not trying to hate on SoL anime. hell, I like SoL. but the story concept itself is just bad. however, I'm not saying ALL SoL anime are bad. SoL isn't necessarily about story, anyway. the genre revolves around the characters and their interactions with each other.

People still died if they left town if I recall correctly.

And people related to any one in the class who didn't even live in the town died as well I think.

Dragonball/Z… the plot is ridiculous… they have 7 dragon balls… with which they can get any wish.. this is such a ridiculous plot device… when you don't get your way… just wish your way out of it… Nothing that happens really matters… because they have the dragon balls to fix everything…

I think it was cool at the start of Dragonball when the series was more goofball, when the whole point was the search for the dragon balls not the wish itself… I think things went downhill once they started using the dragon balls to wish people back.

Plus the wishes that they actually made in the show were so stupid…

The whole android saga was beyond stupid… they wouldn't stop Dr. Gero before he built the androids… They wouldn't use the dragon balls here... they gave an idiotic excuse on the show…

The héros get every trump card available… they have the dragon balls, they have the hyperbolic time chamber to train as much as they want in a short period of time… they have senzu beans… the saiyans have that ridiculous power boost… the villains basically have 0 chance.

The show's strength is the characters.

So why not shut the school down and stop creating more students?

That was my thoughts exactly. If so many people died in that town and that class, they would totally just shutdown the school or anything related to that class room.

Just an animated zombie movie...the plot is simply survival with some romance and teen angst in the background. Same as with the series The Walking Dead.

They tried something similar where they changed classrooms. The curse still affected them. I don't think it really has to do with the school per se but more with the concept of Class 3-3 and the tragedy that happened there years before.

They initially messed up by trying to accept that the original death never happened and go on with their school life as if the dead person was still with them. They basically "accepted death" among them. This allowed the dead person to actually come back to life and enact the curse.

Even if they closed the school, I surmise that those directly related to the students of the original class will be afflicted with the curse instead no matter where they are.

In the end, its a never ending ritual cycle all because they "accepted death".

Interesting… so the curse doesn't end?
