Upotte!! is the ALL TIME WORST for plot by far. If anyone can make any sense of this let me know.

Hetalia and Gunslinger Girl had a baby and they both named their child...Upotte.

The Japanese industry didn`t know what does ''Elitist'' mean?
many new anime were aimed at otaku pandering audiences, this is why new anime have bad plot.

I wish ''Elitist bait'' must become a new genre for anime so Elitist will love it.

I'm typically not a fan of the cutesy moeblob slice-of-life shows, because of their pointless episodic "plots". I just can't get into them. However...

I... I liked Upotte.

Otherwise, I also think the plot of Guilty Crown is horribly contrived. But that may be more due to execution than the plot itself. Honestly, I can't think of an anime with a terrible plot, per se, but I can think of many with terrible execution of said plot.

I'm not going to convert yet another thread like this in to a Guilty Crown focused conversation...at least I'll try...

...but why do people say that Guilty Crowns plot sucked? What exactly was so sucky about it? It wasn't Shakespeare, but that wasn't really the point of it...

Is it because not everything was explained the way you wanted it explained? Was it because you just thought it was "unrealistic"?

The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat had a bad one. it seemed like they had no idea what to do after the first few episodes. Dog And Scissors also, they just gave up after establishing the premise and had random people doing random things.

I think the most disappointing one was Gad Guard: the first season was awesome, and the second stomped all over it.

I just thought there was a bit too much going on. As I said, it may be that the plot itself wasn't terrible, but the way the show handled it was. In my opinion, anyway. I'm all for plot twists and complexity, but Guilty Crown just assaulted me with all sorts of little contrivances that I thought were unnecessary and detracted from the story as a whole. And the big "twists" were rather predictable.

But, hey. I watched the show all the way through. It entertained me enough.

God, just had to corroborate with this. That show was so ridiculously stupid it just blew my mind. They had no idea what the !@#$ was going on in their own show. The story was nonsense, and nothing that happened ever made any sense either. That show truly was the epitome of what I would call an absolute disaster of story.

Eh...I guess I've heard meanderings similar to this before, but to address what you said specifically...

I'm not sure if much in Guilty Crown was meant to be a "twist". The only major "Uhhhhhhh huh?" moment is that of Gai's revival which has little (see : non-existent) explanation behind it, to which I'll agree wreaks a little bit of contrivance. Unpredictability is a pretty hard quality to possess in such a jaded generation of viewers though. Though I often see, I think, folks maybe giving Guilty Crown a little too much credit in the plot department in the sense that I don't think the plot itself was meant to be complex...I don't really see it as very complex at least. I see it as pretty straight forward.

Guilty Crown was about the ride to me, and I think it was also the same way for everyone else. You just can't help but see it to the next episode because it was so damn cool to watch, no matter the story grievances. Once it was over it was easy to sit there and pick apart all the little things, but I think Guilty Crown had one major (achieved) goal, to be a visual and audible spectacle.

I agree about Dog x Scissors that really grinds my gears how the series went on like that. I was starting to enjoy it until nonsense happen afterwards.

I am adding my agreement to the stack. There are some great moments in that show, as well as (potentially) great characters, but it goes in random directions without really going anywhere at all, and it does not play by the rules it sets for itself. Tragic failure. Noucome is what Henneko should have been, IMO.

As for my submission to the list, it's one that I usually slap on most given "worst of" lists, and that's Ninja Resurrection. The plot: "Let's pretend this is going to be about Japanese history, then try to offend as many people as humanly possible."
