Milek sat frozen for a few moments before his brain finally got him to move. "I'm sorry..." his tone was soft, but his voice was a semi-deep tenor. He moved to gather his things. "I didn't mean to interrupt, I just thought I'd get here early to explore the grounds. I wanted to see the gym..." The teen felt himself start on a rambling thread, so he pressed his lips together in a thin line. The last thing he wanted to do was appear more socially inept than he really was.

The truth was, Milek had gotten lost and when he'd found the gym, he was relieved because he could navigate the map from that point on. He hadn't thought anyone else would be there.

Asami started walking again and when she was close enough so the boy could hear her. She thought of way to start a conversation with the boy and she just winged it,''What are you reading there?"

Milek paused in his haste to leave, staring up at the girl that, moments before, had been overpowering the boy trailing behind her. Now it seemed that, maybe, the fight had really just been a spar between friends. "It's... "Treasure Island." He held the old, worn book to his chest with the title showing. Again, he felt a rambling bubble in his throat, but this time over something he enjoyed. "Have you read it?"

"I have read that book,"Niles said his face was straight, he had a bead of sweat dripping from his forehead from the sparring earlier. He reached up with his arm and wiped it from his fore head. He shifted his weight on his feet lightly, looking nonchalant."Are you new here?"He asked with a slight raised eyebrow."I have not seen you around before..."

Slowly and minutely, the smile returned to Milek's face. Not many read old stories anymore, and meeting another who did was always a treat for him. "Yes," his accent was heavily laden with Russian. "My brother and I just transferred here." The teen frowned and looked down, studying the floor. "Why were the two of you fighting? Is that part of the curriculum here?"

Niles shook his head,"I just do this in my spare time..."He said, he had a slight German accent, but it wasn't very thick, he had been away from his country since he was a child. "I just saw her practicing and asked her if I could help...she is better than I initially thought..."He chuckled a bit,"Oh my name is Niles, by the way." He said with a slight nod of his head.

Nodding in understanding, Milek smiled at Niles. "Milek," he introduced himself, twitching to stretch out his hand in an offered hand shake. He decided against it, however, when he decided that not everyone liked physical contact with strangers. He sure didn't. "Do you do this often?" He stood with his things, making to leave for his class. He was sure he'd missed his first one. "Helping other students practice, I mean?"

Niles noticed his twitch, but didn't think anything of it He is probably not used to talking to people much. He read people well, but not to judge them, he considered it a hobby. He usually was right most times."Not at all, I just happened to do it today...but I guess I didn't need to teach her anything." He smiles at Milek slightly.

"I'm sure there are things you could teach each other," he smiled back at Niles. Milek took out his schedule and glanced over it, hiding the tinge of color that came to his face when he'd remembered he had been lost before. "My next class is Math. Could you... show me the way there?"
Posted 11/24/13
"Yeah she showed me I shouldn't let my guard down..."He mumbles,"Sure I can show you to that class,"Niles shifts his weight slightly."Follow me Milek."He turns looking back at him, before making his way towards the gym doors. "Why did you decide to transfer her?" He asked, as he led him to his math class.

Milek jogged to keep up with the other, his long legs carrying him quickly. "Thank you," he said with a smile, grateful that Niles didn't let on that he'd gotten himself lost. "I didn't decide to. My father had to move here for business, and this was the best school." He hefted his bag up as it had slipped off his arm, weighed down by not only the required school books, but also the things that kept him entertained during his free time. "How long have you been going here?"

Niles slowed his pace to let him catch up. Listening to Milek tell him why he had transferred."I am fairly new as well, I arrived last week."He murmured with a comforting smile. He stopped in front of a door, "This is your class, man" He opened the door holding it for him. It was hard for him to usually show this emotion towards people. Perhaps he had found his first "friend".

Hearing that made Milek feel more at ease. "I thought my brother and I were the only ones to start late," he smiled a bit more, at odds with why he was more comfortable talking to Niles. Usually, he said little more than a "hello" and "goodbye", and got away as quickly as possible. Niles made talking feel easy. "Thank you for showing me, Niles," Milek bowed to him and turned to go inside. He stopped, though, and looked over his shoulder, uncertain shyness surfacing. "S-see you around?" The boy hadn't stuttered in a long time.

"Well looks like you aren't alone..."Niles smiled more,"You are welcome..."He said, softly, biting his lip slightly, he turned back around when Niles heard his voice."Yeah hopefully, "He said backing away, for he is about to be late to his class as well. He turns and jogs lightly to his Biology class.

At that, Milek smiled brightly. He could help but find Niles... cute... when he bit his lip. Shaking his head of those thoughts, the boy shuffled quietly to a seat by the window. Math. The one subject he and his brother were both horrible at. Milek sighed, anxious for lunch so he could meet with his new friend again.
