Hey, I'm Nikki and I wanted to know if this is weird or not.

Sometimes when I'm reading a book I completely zone out and picture myself in the book. Lol.. *Face Palms*

Like say, if I was reading "Twilight" or something I would remove bella and put myself in her shoes. It's probably weird.. but I want to know if other people do this as well.

I also did this with the Harry Potter series. I would start reading and something interesting happen and i'll see myself fighting the death eaters.. LOL. And sometimes I burst out laughing. Yeah.. okay no wonder why people find me weird but who cares.

Nope, hasn't happened to me. I see things played out like a movie. kudos on you imagination though.

I do that too Personally I don't find it weird, let alone who cares what other people think I do that when I'm watching a movie or anime's too.

I don't think that's weird. I don't do that but I do replace the characters with other characters in anime and movies. Just to mix things up and make it interesting. Kind of like making up my own story.

I could see that, since those books are in first person, the "I" could very well be you. Lol. That's pretty awesome though!

Sweet, my imagination is quite immense, so I would even sometimes make movies of me being the main character in the movie, just with a different plot and storyline of my own :D

Depends. It happens all the time if I'm reading poetry. With fiction, though, it depends on how the book is written. Basically, a good rule is that the more poetic the writing, the more likely I am to find myself immersed in the situation. Most books don't do that very often, though.

I call it having a good imagination. I do it all the time when reading/watching my favorite series. Which is Fantasy (think Dungeons and Dragons) and Romance (Yeah i'm a guy who like Romance what of it?!).

Such as in Fantasy I would put myself in the role of the main guy who is usually the hero. Or Romance I would put myself in as the guy so I could imagine different types of relationships I "could" have.

Of course Doctors tell you that this is ADHD and that you need to be put on expensive medication because it is not "normal" and you "won't fit in with society".

I, like my father, tell them to screw off because it isn't ADHD (which I believe personally is a made up disease for doctors to make money) it's just daydreaming which everyone does so it is perfectly normal.

I wouldn't say it's weird. Quite frankly, that's exactly the writer's intention--to make you feel like you're one of the characters in the book.

I don't do that.

I put myself as a bystander in the book's universe.

I feel a powerful attachment to the characters.

I have sometimes, just to spice things up, though I don't do it all the time. Like Stonewolfe said, it just shows you have a good imagination if you can slightly change how the book is played out such as making the main character you and have it still make sense and get the story across.

I can't visualize anything because my mind is constantly distracted by other crap.
