There's really no need for anime to strictly follow manga. Sure, you want to roughly follow the plot but unexpected twist/developments to the plot are beneficial. Why would I want to just see the same exact story I just read?
Clare is the first of her kind (Teresa's blood not yoma) and has latent power that is not easily matched nor perceived by her enemy. Further more here ability to read yoke power gives her the clear advantage over all powerful beings.

Would love to see a second season but doubt there will be one. Horror anime like this one doesn't usually get past one or two seasons, instead withering away slowly in manga.

I have no idea what's happening in the manga anymore, I just click through new chapters to see the big monster fights.

Claymore is on my imaginary pile of things that had potential but never really nurtured it.

Maybe they should just do what they did with FMA and just do a remake, I would definitely be up for that!

Making up new material usually requires a writer as good as the original, which is in short supply in the anime industry. Why do you think they make so many adaptations in the first place? It's because there aren't that many writers to go around that can write good original stories. There are so many manga adaptations with really terrible endings because the studio doesn't want to make another season so they just make up a botched ending instead. Kyoukai no Kanata is a really good example of what happens when you make up over 75% of the show because there's not enough source material to use to fill up an entire cour.

Not so much "making up new material" but exploring different outcomes is in my opinion beneficial. I didn't find anything terribly wrong with the claymore anime when compared to the manga, just different.

At any rate if there is some type of reboot, I would rather see a completely different story or at least relatively different like the old star trek(70's?) vs. the new star trek(09?). The reboots that I have seen that follow the original story too closely like guyver vs. guyver bioarmor and full metal alchemist(03?) vs. fma(09?) are frankly wasted resources, why watch the same thing again?

Here, you can sign the petition and hope for the best. No matter how the anime goes, it would catch up with manga some way or the other.

I highly doubt it.
They should make a remake instead.

my thoughts exactly. i've actually dropped it, updates are few and far between anyway and i can't remember what happened before. I would watch a reboot though, after the manga is finished and the anime can be done correctly.

Its Not gonna happen .no reboot and no season 2

there is just far too many reasons why. and if you follow the manga you'll understand some of them

I've wanted a remake forever, but Raki kinda ruined some of it for me, but that's besides the point... I doubt it will get animated since I don't think the original anime even did that well.
