I can't count the number of times this worthless video player keeps skipping and pausing start/mid/end of an episode on 1080p all the time its really amazing. . . . . . glad I pay for this. (Yeah nobody is forcing me to pay for it blah blah blah) Sorry I just want to watch anime I enjoy in 1080p, to bad this site sucks.

I run over 55Mbps download and over 10Mbps upload so my internet isn't at fault here, and the rest of my computer is a power house.

Please fix your video player it doesn't matter if its a new episode that was upload 1 hour ago or 1 week ago it always skips and pauses randomly for me.

Probably wrong place to post this topic but I don't really care this is super annoying to me.

Yes, it was in the wrong place. I've moved it to the Suggestions / Feedback forum.

I've been having the same issue. It's defintely pretty frustrating. The video troubleshooting guides dont resolve the problem. If i watch my connection it just seems like crunchy's servers simply stop feeding the video. A fix would greatly appreciated!

I'd just stick with the 720p anyways. Since they're all upscaled to 1080p as it is, you aren't really getting any better quality out of it once you go fullscreen.

This video player makes me want to cancel my membership. The only reason I pay the subscription is because I want to support the industry, but other websites have 1080p, a 100% reliable video player and it's FREE. Even the app is terrible. The video and audio are ALWAYS out of sync. C'mon, I'm paying for this service and it's horrible. I get way better service from free sites. Please fix!!!

Except for Daisuki and YouTube, I can't think of any other sites that provide anime in 1080p for free that are actually using their own video player and paying for their own infrastructure and bandwidth.

So that means I should be satisfied with paying for a service that doesn't work half of the time?

I don't know the details on how all sites function, I just know I'm getting the worst service on this site and this is the only one I'm paying for. It's not too much to ask for a reliable video player and android app.

they are hiring people to be in-charge of the video player stuff.
Both in the Video Player Engineer
department and the Live Video Player Engineer department too. So, I wouldn't say "just deal with it" cause they are seemingly trying to fix it but lack the capabilities to do so. So, I say we might see the video player finally get patched up and fix..maybe. But only if someone is willing to take le job. So, I'd say...wait awhile, like a few months give er take

That's good to know. Will do. Thanks for the response.

But you know what really irritates me, is that Crunchyroll never admit that the problem is on their end. They always blame the user's connection. They'll have you re-downloading flash player and resetting your connection a thousands times.

If anyone is having problems with the video player, it's not you. it's them. The stuttering and freezing. is not a problem on your end.

I don't experience any significant issues without a blazing fast Internet connection, so it's not necessarily on either CR's or the users' end, and is likely somewhere in-between.

The problem is with CR. Me and all my friends all have blazing fast internet connections. We use wired connections and not wifi cause wifi isn't always stable. We're gamers so having optimal internet is important to us. We all have the same problems ONLY on CR. Not on any other site with any other video player.

I'd like to bump this thread, it's now been over a year since this thread started and the video playback on CR is still the worst thing since rewinding cassette tapes manually. 50 Mb/s down, 10 Mb/s up. The player on website requires a refresh every 10 mins or so, it freezes after that. Slow playback is frequent.

Don't expect CR to fix their shitty ass video player anytime soon... It's been way too long to even have any hope left at this point, might as well stick to the app they have...even then I hear the app has issues as well.

It does. Needs to skip around a few seconds when it stops to rebuffer.
