Hello,

the topic sais all.
I am a german user and we don't have creditcards at hand, at least not low-income people like me.
I wanted to get the Anime-Premium. But when I try to log into paypal via the store page, all I get is that you refuse to take my money.

Any help on this ?

According to Ezgi's post: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-1099/the-general-helpadvice-thread?fpid=44077873

"Paypal, for one reason or another, had to place a block on recurring purchases being made from Germany (on any site that uses recurring subscriptions, not just ours). So you most likely will not be able to purchase Premium Membership through our standard system. As such, you will unfortunately need to use one of our other payment options. Alternatively, if you have a second email address you can purchase a subscription for yourself as a gift."

Unfortunately, Gift memberships are down at the moment, but I think they will be back up sometime this week, most likely by this Friday as Bjaker had mentioned in another thread

Sadly this is Not True. I use recurring payments from a Lot of us Sites. And also they do have those crunchy bucks. Do it is the very daseist Thing to be able to buy them with paypal as a One Time purchase. Its so easy if you want... But if you dont care you just say "use Credit cares Even though your Country doesnt Support it so well" very disapointed... Well no crunchy for me i guess

You can use Rixity but it's a bit more expensive that way (~0.5$)

I don't know what a Rixity is but the support showed me, that Crunchy really doesn't care about people that WANT to pay but can't.

Reason 1: Pre-Paid months, which are far more secure than recurring payments, are not wanted
Reason 2: No way to buy those Crunchy Bucks with money
Reason 3: Giftcards, instead of making them VIRTUAL, cost 21€ for a service that costs 14,97€ and take up to 4 weeks to arrive.

This is by far no flame, else I would have taken insults into my texts.
But it is more then a shame, that you CAN'T pay, even though you want, and why? Because we are german and that not because of government or censoring stuff, but for some reasons that really don't exist.

Sad sad sad...

The reason does exist, though. Just do a google search for "paypal recurring payments Germany" and you'll find sites that have German customers that are also expressing the issue that you are having. Now I don't know the reason why there are some places that allow German paypal users to use recurring payments thru Paypal, but that might be something u could complain about to Paypal, since it would seem some sites are seemingly slipping thru the cracks.

Anyway, the best thing to do is to wait till the Gift memberships are back up, which should be some time this week.

It's not really something CR can work out themselves. From the sounds of it, it is up to the German banks and PayPal.

I don't know if Germany has these, but have you considered a pre-paid debit card? I think I remember some people complaining about issues with billing addresses, but I think they worked for the most part. Feel free to correct me if that is no longer the case.

Eye they CAN if they want. Just alone to make packs in 1,3,6 and 12 months pre-paid.
That's just the most secure way and the easiest to get around the recurring payments problem.
But somehow everyone seems to ignore this easy way

It would be nice if CR offered gift cards in flexible amounts, like most other gift cards these days, but I'm sure there are logistical reasons for not offering that option.

Same problem for me, wanted all-access. Pre-paid membership sound like the easiest solution.
If i may suggest www.sofort.com
It's an electronic billing service that works through the online-banking of the banks itself, therefore it's as fast as the bank-computers (servers?). Its good enough for valve/steam and ea/origin.

Edit: Found out that Crunchyroll has a way around. CR Bucks (oder CR Krümel). Go to settings (Einstellungen), click the last point of the list to the left and buy it. It is prepaid points, so to say and goes around the subscription block of paypal. You can even pay through a prepaid mobile number.
