Lately, when I pick my fanservice anime for the season, they start off strong in the first episode or two, then gradually fall off.

If you are going to have a plotless show with run-of-the-mill characters as to where you need to allure your viewers with fanservice, then dammit, keep that fanservice constant!

Sometimes it's okay to have a strong start with it to attract my type of viewer, but you need to actually have something that will keep the viewer coming back.

Somewhat related, but all the new eva movies say in the trailers that plenty more fan service is to come. They hardly have any fan service, especially the third one. Whether thats a problem or not is up to the veiwer

Yeah I feel like I enjoyed a lot more fanservice shows that were made in 2010-ish than what's current.

If you haven't seen it already, you should try out High School DxD. That show's definitely a fanservice anime that stays strong from beginning to end.

Fan service has become a plague in anime. i am rather glad when a show cans it after an episode or two. when its situational its not to bad but when the only thing a show has going for it is the fan service than in my book the show is garbage. IMO

Yeah, but this can be said of all genres and themes, like romance. Which is why I dropped SAO.

yuushibu is still consistent in both story, characters, AND fanservice. I've been really enjoying it. Walkure Romanze and that other... wrestling one... both were bad and I dropped them after 1 episode.

I like fan service when it is well thought out and sexy. Take the shower scene with Hanekawa and Senjougahara in Monogatari Second Season. That was great fan service. Was it plot driven? Barely. Sexy? Definitely. Boobs and panties are not sexy by themselves, they need context. I don't care for fan service that is just bouncy boobs and upskirts. I like Yuushibu in spite of it's generally lame in your face fan service. Setsuna going commando when she made her move in White Album 2 was far more compelling than a episode of silly upskirts and jiggling. Bad fan service won't ruin a show for me, it just makes it difficult to share with others. I like Highschool of the Dead, but I can't suggest it to people or watch it with my family.
