*high five*

Same here. (I still need to get the DVD boxes for the original DB, but I have all of Z ... and all of GT, for what that's worth.) Big series like these never really leave the stage; they just go on the down-low, and their fan bases keep them alive for years to come.

Hard to say, there will most likely be other shounen that will hold the spotlight, since shounen is the biggest demographic there is I can't see any other genre taking over, I hope that the medium grows up a little and we have more consistent seinen shows with more consistent stories and characters and we start to move any from the childish tropes and fan service

Gigguk from youtube already discussed this.

Yay, Gigguk mentioned.

I don't really see why should it be a balance of three massive shounen series... doubt that Toriko or HunterXHunter or any other already long running series has what it takes to capture a massive fanbase mid-way through their stories.

Well, we can always count on Hajime no Ippo and Detective Conan. Those won't end until their authors kick the bucket.

Not to mention, Ippo has more than a thousand chapters and counting.

That author works harder than the author from Berserk. Ippo is being published weekly while Berserk is published monthly and it wants to associate religion(s) on its theme that we all know it'll just go down the drain.

I wonder if Gintama can make it up there. *thinking about it*

Well there is this manga called Nanatsu No Taizai, probably if it gets animated maybe it could be up there
Also Hunter x Hunter might since it's really good!
But yeah it doesn't look like One Piece is going end any time soon (which is a good thing)

After watching a recent episode of Magi I can safely say that this could replace something like naruto. It's way more interesting anyway with its Arabian lore and such.

I still don't know why it's called the Big 3, when you measure the popularity of anime, that would mean that One Piece is the king and Naruto and Bleach are way down under, they are not equals. I don't really think anything will happen, that's like saying if Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones are the big 3 of America. Breaking Bad just ended.....That's it, wait for a new one, it's not some mystical dynasty or whatever, a show just ends. So, nothing will happen when they end.

In terms of who will replace the series, no anime so far can really match the standard. No matter how much I think Bleach is like a Michael Bay movie, Fairy Tail is just way too childish and idiotic to EVER be taken seriously by the anime community, it's an anime created for the sole purpose of fan pairing and fan-fiction. Attack on Titan is a monthly shonen so it's much slower. Toriko is like the Mitt Romney of anime, you don't want it but you're stuck with him, it just doesn't have much of an appealing story or characters. It's not like anime has some forced structure where there MUST be 3 popular anime, it's possible for all 3 of them to go down and 5 new mainstream anime to take their place.

Umm....Nothing I would assume?

They'll probably be replaced by a big (insert arbitrary number here).

Whatever is the most popular ongoing manga/anime will replace them. The void will always be filled by something to define Shounen Jump.

This coming from the guy who likes that piece of garbage anime made for 4 year olds known as SAO.

Hody Jones is a racist who orchestrates history to his own desire to create animosity towards humans for the sake of Fishman pride

Kayaba: LOL I FORGOT WHY I CREATED SAO

Danzo works within the shadows and sacrifices his own humanity for the greater good of the ninja society at any cost, even if it means killing innocent people

Sugou: LOL I'M EVIL FOR NO REASON

The world of literature would be better off if we incinerated the SAO novels and the Twilight Novels in a massive flame.

Other shows will be popular. It's the circle of life.

...every time someone brings up SAO, good or bad, the conversation becomes a vicious cycle
