When You Sit Down And Watch A Harem Anime You Think That You Know Who's Going To Win His Heart But Really They Could Pull One On Ya! They Main Reason Is Because HE Thinks HE Can Decide Who HE Gets To Date And Then Break The Other Girls Hearts Like They Were ChildHood Friends Oh Please What Happens In The Past STAYS In The PAST!

The Picture Is From Haganai I Havent Watched The Anime

I am Not Using Haganai As A Example Im Just Using The Photo Plus I Cap Alot Sorry Im Used To It...

^ Always go for the Harem end.
In the Case that that is not possible I typically find myself "rooting" for one of the girls (or guys) that I like the most which in most cases is not the that will win in the end.

I've watched a handful of harem and it really doesn't bother me. I do find myself rooting for one of the girls but if it ends on a neutral and happy note I'm ok with it. Although one harem I did dislike the ending and who he ending up with not because I wasn't rooting her but really she didn't deserve to win.

Oh by the way, I hope your not using Haganai as an example. It has some childhood friend elements but I wouldn't call it harem.

Haganai is classified as a harem, and for good reason. Maria and Kobato love him as a brother, Sena, Yozora, Kate, and Rika love him as a love interest, and Yukimura loves him as...a master and a love interest, maybe?

Anyways, I personally like closure to a harem, even though it generally means one or more people end up hurting. It just seems to be relieving that way. Although, there are a lot of good harems without closure as well.

Also, please don't capitalize every single word >_<

Honestly, it depends. I always hope that MY favorite girl will win. I often don't care about who the main character is leaning toward, I just want to see my favorite girl end up happy, although usually I like more than one girl so it is a lot easier for me.

Infinite Stratos - Charlotte. Although I also like Laura, and Kanzashi introduced in the last episode.
Haganai - Honestly, I'd be happy with Rika, Kate, Sena, or Yukimura, I really like them all, I can't choose. In a situation I can't choose, any ending works.
Ore Imouto - Ayase or Kuroneko... actually anyone but Kirino... I won't say anymore.
ToLoveRu - Hoping for a Harem ending. But strangely enough I have to go with the main heroine here, Lala. I usually don't go for main heroines, but Lala is just so cute I can't help it this time.
Now here is an example of two animes I feel very differently about :

Valvrape - I don't like the main character, don't want to see any of the girls end up with him.
Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka - I love EVERY character, I really can't choose. My personal favorite is Sarasvati, but as I've said I love every character so a harem ending would be best.

While there is always a character I root for, I can usually figure out who will win out due to patterns from various other harems I've watched and my own personal intuition.

Or the opening or end animation telegraphs the decision, such as the currently airing Golden Time.

While Haganai might technically be a "harem," Sena and Yozora are the only two real contenders. I think Shuffle was one of the few harem shows I've seen where the victor was unexpected.

As for a true harem end, that either turns out like Tenchi or School Days.

It would be nice if the childhood friend stated her feelings for the guy beforehand or the guy states his feelings for his friend......but nooooo~.

A lot of harems seem to fall into this pattern, where you have two real contenders, perhaps a potential dark horse if the writer(s) play it well, a number of also-rans, and often one or more "no chance" candidates.

There are always exceptions of course. In Rosario + Vampire, it is so obvious who the "winner" will be from early on that the story would really need to swing things around to make anyone else a believable "winner". At the other end, you have something like Tenchi Muyo GXP which did a decent job of keeping us guessing, and in the end gave us one of the few (or only?) true harem endings.

I would contend that at least in the anime realm, Shuffle was also an exception, since the male lead actually declared a choice.

mashiro iro symphony was this gold, rito, or true that complained about the end?

you actually went through the trouble of holding down "shift," at the start of each word? talk about dedication for something you love.

anyways harems have reached a point where I simply do not care.
