I will say it again. Don't allow insecure people to bring you down! Brush it off! Life is too damn short to worry about what others think! If the people around you will not accept you then change the situation and surround yourself with people who are worth your time. One of my high school friends was simply gorgeous! Home coming queen, prom queen, cheer leader etc. She was the saddest and most lonely person I knew. She was a total sweetheart and since we were neighbors I never treated her as different even though she was stunningly beautiful. Because she was so pretty, most guys were afraid to talk to her and the girls hated her simply because she was so attractive. She never hurt anyone, and always had kind things to say. In the end, sever depression led her to do the unthinkable! This thread may be a troll, but it strikes a nerve in me, and I can't help but say my piece! Sorry for the rant!

I really hope she had some kind of clinical depression or mental problems and didn't just "do the unthinkable" because of how others were treating/acting towards her.

Wasn't really a rant and yours was the only readworthy post in this thread.

Very well said, and thats very true there are a lot of "Beautiful" people that suck as human beings and thats whats giving the bad name, and there are many insecure/shallow people that in the world that actually think like that, turn a blind eye to them sort of people life is too short. Excellent advice

You both are very right...I usually do ignore it, but yesterday it happened to me 5 times and I just got a bit annoyed and had to vent a little. Plus I wanted to know if there were people out there who experience the same.

Beauty isn't a thing you either have or don't.. Everyone is beautiful to someone. Personally, I've been attracted to about 90% of females I've met in my life that were under the age of 50. The other 10% would have been attractive with a few alcoholic beverages or dimmer lights. But I doubt this post is truly about that at all...

The sheer fact that you almost get into fights is proof that this is more about you than other people. We are supposed to believe that you, minding your own business, on three separate occasions had random people just walk up to you and start a fight with you. No. To describe these scenarios so well, you must be overly examining everyone in your surroundings, which is probably the real reason why people might seem insecure or uncomfortable around you. I mean, you mention married people, so you stare at people enough to verify if a wedding band is equipped. Seems to me like you just like drama. You pay way too much attention to strangers around you and it is creepy, then you act shocked that it causes issues. Then to top it all off, you fabricate the reasoning behind it.

That's all assuming this isn't just some made up troll post. After all, your profile says you are male but you imply that lesbians are bothered by your presence.

Wow you are soo off, lol I actually am intrrverted and keep to myself most of the time, but I won't hold my head down and not watch my surroundings. I am never one to stare at another...you are simply one who doesn't believe because YOU have not experienced this yourself.
Oh does't jealousy make us type the dardest things? If a guy is jealous enough yes he will try to fight you JUST because his girlfriend is watching you. Also I don't have to stare at someone's hand to know their married tsk tsk duh

This is dumb. Maybe.. just maybe.. there are other reasons than vanity for their opinions, OP?

Like I said I have had this body and face all my life...and I gave it a out a decade of believing it is something else....when your younger guys in your class just hate on you alot.

Trust me, it's a thousand times worse if you're a girl. Everybody likes to give lip service to the idea that women should be proud of who they are, no matter how they look, but the second that a girl who's actually pretty decides that she doesn't want to be modest about her looks and would rather have a confident, self-loving attitude about how she looks, she's labelled as either a slut or a stuck-up cheerleader type. It's as if you're only allowed to love how you look if you're not all that attractive. Even girls who just have naturally large breasts (something they have no control over) are sometimes stereotyped as being slutty or stuck-up.

And that's not even going into how pretty girls are viewed in the anime and gaming community. That whole "fake geek" or "fake gamer girl" thing might be true for a small amount of sad, pathetic, and probably emotionally unstable girls, but it's the most bullshit thing I've ever heard. I've been called out as a "fake geek girl" multiple times at anime conventions, even though I've been in love with anime and video games every since I was six years old staying up until midnight to watch Inuyasha and Bleach on Adult Swim. People who know nothing about these girls are judging them simply on their looks, as if pretty girls aren't allowed to be geeks or gamers. What even is that? How self-absorbed are you if you honestly believe that all these beautiful women are parading around conventions to get attention from a bunch of misogynistic mouth breathers? The deeper implication, of course, is that only unattractive and socially-awkward girls can be smart or nerdy, which is also bullshit, obviously.

Ugh, sorry for the rant. The amount of hypocrisy in our society just pisses me off to no end.

No problem...I fully understand what you mean.

-tion wrote: lol this thread, good looking people are usually a lot smarter than ugly people so that's why they get hated on because ugly people hate. Think about that xD.

What do good looks have to do with intelligence? Last time I checked the stereotypes are that "ugly" people are usually smart and "beautiful" people are usually not smart so they usually have to ask a nerd or smart person for "help" in school or anything in general. Obviously it's unwise to go by the stereotypes because they're not always true.

Ppl hate me because I'm not friendly with them.

My point is, no matter how attractive or ugly you are, ppl will hate you for any reason. I'm a kind person, I just don't speak much and I'm blunt, ppl hate honesty.

All I can say is just be who you are , only good ppl can see past appearances

Yeah you're ugly lol

You didn't have to express your opinion on that person's looks; that's just irrelevant and rude.

On topic: beautiful people are hated on usually out of jealousy and stereotypes associated with them, such as: they're stuck up, arrogant, overconfident, mean, rude, patronizing, judgmental, slutty, promiscuous, etc. Other people could see beautiful people as a threat to their significant other as well; they think beautiful people might lure their significant other away.
Edit: I, myself, don't actually think that about "beautiful" people, but I think other people possibly do. Obviously stereotypes aren't necessarily true.

I think it is ridiculous when people are jealous of someone based upon how beautiful/attractive they are, or they hate on someone just because that person is unattractive, or just doesn't fit into the conventional beauty-type.

Either way, it is bad. You should like someone based on who they are, not what they look like.

You should like yourself based on who you are, not who you want to be.

Shut up.

I don't care if you're not looking for comments that say otherwise, but you're not ugly - you have cute face that may not be conventionally handsome, but it's most certainly not ugly. It's cute.

I myself am not pretty in the slightest but - like you said - only good people can see past appearances. Or at least, those that are not so shallow. I should know - I have people that like me for me, and not what I look like.

Haha no its ok to have a good rant every now and again, it just shows there are a lot of people assume straight away they "know" how someone is, to think off the bat like that just shows how stupid people really are. Fuck em there idiots and they always will be xD

If those sad excuse of reasons you mentioned are not examples of what having less intelligence is capable of then I don't know what is. I called him ugly because it was working in conjunction with my point, in a way I really was not calling him ugly at all.

Btw if this is of any importance (wasn't relevant to my original post); http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3354410/Study-reveals-good-looking-people-are-also-the-cleverest.html

I understand the sun is a bit of a lol and the study might not amount to much but i'm just putting it out there if you want to know. My original post however, was just about how people behave demonstrating ugliness in thinking and less creativity in their thinking.

Edit:
marcel20, enjoy it while it lasts. That's my cynical view. You probably like the attention ;). People like to moan, just as well.

Nothing wrong (not that I was saying something is wrong with it; it just looks ugly in the eyes of some of the other people that witness it) with hating on a good looking person when I think about it... so long as I don't consider it a waste of time.
