I was about 9 years old and in 4th grade when the fad started blowing up. I didn't have a Game Boy at the time, but my friend got me to play a made-up, imaginary, Pokemon game and sometimes he let me play his game when we hung out; also I started buying and playing the trading card game and watching the anime.

It was not until the Game Boy Advance came out when I started playing Pokemon Yellow and Red. From there I had at least one game in every generation. I quit after beating White, never bought B2/W2, but decided to come back when my friends convinced me to buy Pokemon X.

Pokemon XY is definitely the most interesting and innovative generation, but I love the 4th generation (DPPt and HGSS) the most, mainly because I learned about RNG and how to use it.

I can't remember a time when I wasn't a huge Pokémon nerd. I believe the anime started airing when I was going into kindergarten. I already had a GameBoy Color (thanks to my old-school gamer father) and Pokémon Red. Love love loved it. Must've played it every day. I've bought almost every generation since (skipped Black/White and Black/White 2, heard they weren't worth it). My absolute favorite game was either Red or SoulSilver. I have the best memories of those two, and I still play SS. I'll be getting X or Y for Christmas.

I remember watching the anime before school every morning, and my bro watching Yu-Gi-Oh on the same channel. I would collect the cards, too, and have battles with the boys on the bus. Good times, man. Gooood times.

I was around when it started up, but was a little bit late onto the bandwagon: my first introduction was the trading card game, which I became instantly enamoured with, and proceeded to start watching the show, and got myself a copy of Blue. Like many people my age, I consider Pokemon a fairly big part of my childhood. I still buy the new games nowadays, though I rarely finish them, and I actually got back into the card game briefly a couple years ago. I'm not a diehard Pokemon fan, but I am still a fan.

Boy, good times they were watching pokemon on saturday mornings. I stopped watching pokemon some time during the 3rd gen shows. I did continue to play the games, although I skipped the 4th gen entirely. My first pokemon game was Yellow version :')

I've been playing Pokemon ever since Blue came out. I have the games from every generation. I even bought have Pokemon X.
The anime though...I remember watching the very first episode on a Saturday morning! I stopped watching it after Misty left the group during the Hoenn region.

Has anyone watched the Pokemon Origins anime?

I watched from the very first episode up until the sinnoh league ended. Pokemon just became trash after that (black, white, X and Y).

My favorite was the Johto region with Suicune, entei and Raikou and after that comes the hoenn region with Ash, May, Brock, Max.

I was about 7 when it became a huge fad :)
I got pokemon yellow when I was 8 and have been playing ever since. ^_^

During Ruby/sapphire, I got into competitive play...and then quit with diamond and pearl (I just don't like that gen...)
Black/white and bw2 revitalized my interest in pokemon~

Currently love pokemon x/y. Making competitive pokemon (including shiny competitive pokes) has never been easier.
(Seriously. Full team of legit 5-6iv perfect shinies with egg moves? really? lol)

Let's see, Pokemon aired in 1998, making me roughly 5 years old? I'm not sure if I was the actual airing of the first Pokemon ep or just a rerun but I do remember watching it. I stopped being interested in pokemon around the third generation of starters. So Treeko, Mudkip and whatever the grass type was called. I've never gotten back into the series except for every now and again I'll see one of the films. 20 now

I was what, 5 when the first epi premiered. Remember clenching onto my Pikachu plushie sitting 2 feet from the screen. most awesome day in my life . I lost most of my interest after Diamond and Pearl but I'll occasionally pick up a few new epi's here and there. Watched the original Indigo and Orange island seasons a few times now. Thinking of actually starting them up again. I hae played all the games as well with yellow still being my favorite .
