Ignoring for a moment the fact that the chapters are still well behind the releases in Japan (volume 22 there compared to what we have here), the latest chapter is still showing it is "coming up" at 4pm yesterday. I understand if this were an amateur translation (not to use the bad word here) that life happens. But if I'm paying for a service I kind of expect it to be delivered or at least a formal notice if it won't.

It looks like the expected release date was pushed back to the 4th of December. We add chapters as they're released to us, but most of the control is with the managers in Japan. Sorry about that.

The service is still new as you mentioned, and we're looking at ways to keep users better updated on releases, including messaging when this sort of thing happens.

With all due respect, if the managers of the manga are so irresponsible as you suggest, I don't see why you choose to insult your audience by charging for a feature that they evidently don't actually care about. If the goal of carrying manga is to show there is a paying audience, then they need to treat it like a paying audience. I can only imagine the uproar in Japan if Jump skipped a week "just because".

Worse, to take the approach of throwing your hands up in the air and claiming to have no control over parties who I assume you have a contract with, you seem to indicate that you are at least complicit in this contempt for your audience. I presume that you are sharing revenue with them, and that means they have delivery deadlines that you should be enforcing on behalf of us, your clients.

It is sad to think that the group that used to do this work for free was more professional than the "professionals", and I find CR's attitude about their manga hosting, and this title in particular, to be unfortunate. I can only hope that at some point it will be in CR's interest to give their manga the same love and attention they give their anime.

Chapter 223 wasn't even released in Japan this week so the delay is not on CR's side.

Maybe for the time being, if u know ahead of time that something got delayed or something, u can do what's already being done on the anime side of things, and put a message about that on the series page of the effected manga. Some of us already have a tendency to look at the series page if we suspect there's a problem with an anime simulcast.

Umm... thought that the series in Japan was already past chapter 250?
