I made a small Chrome extension to let me choose the default quality videos load at when you click links on the Crunchyroll site (rather than going straight to 1080p). My little laptop can only handle the 360p and I was getting sick of having to click an episode link, wait for the page to load, scroll down and click the SD link, so I made this to intercept and redirect pages without a quality parameter in the url.

My question was just if it would be okay to share this on the forums with anyone else that might be interested in that functionality? Also, which subforum would be appropriate for that?

Um, you can actually set a default in your account settings. Just choose "Video Preferences" then choose SD from the dropdown list.

As lorreen noted, you can change your default video settings in your Settings under "Video Preferences"...

If it doesn't stay at SD, set it to 480p, let it save the setting, and then go back and re-set it to SD. It should stick.

Ha wow, I'd just assumed that wasn't working. It was actually displaying on my account as SD from the beginning, but videos were still loading at 1080p. It seems I needed to actually change it to another setting, then change it back to SD for it to take effect. Might be a problem with what it initially shows when upgrading from a normal to premium account?

Could be. It's has been noted by Support and it's on their list of things to do (I think).
