I've always been partial to the KOTOR story. Other than those, I'd say DragonAge has a good one.

Love the story of dead space series. Hate the gameplay of 1 but loved 2. Had so much development and shocking twists with where the story changed along the way.

God YES! I love this game. Why? Because it's one of those games where you can decide your romantic interest in the end! Bye bye "childhood friend". Hello HAWT teacher Raine!

Telltale's The Walking Dead was the most unique and powerful experience I've ever had with a video game. Almost all it is is story, with gameplay serving only to progress the story. Fantastic title which will cause you to imagine you're speaking from dialogue options in real life for the next few days after playing it.

Rival Schools (PSX) and Project Justice (Dreamcast) have quite an interesting plot for fighting games (and video games for that matter). Their story is primarily about a series of enigmatically eerie kidnappings of school students and staff across Japan, and it's up to students from various high schools to crack the mystery behind this phenomena. Easier said than done, most fight erupt among them out of the suspicion of each other as the culprits of the abductions.

Like any good story, characters exude a ton of personality throughout the story mode of these games, and they are brought to life even further by their voices, most of which are done by several well-known seiyuus such as Akio Otsuka (Solid Snake of MGS), Yuji Ueda (Kimblee of FMA), Nobuyuki Hiyama (Adult Link of Ocarina of Time), and Ai Orikasa (Ryoko of Tenchi Muyo). The BGMs also added a atmosphere to certain scenes, ranging from jovial to decisive to eerie.

Furthermore, their stories address an important message about friendship as one of the crucial essences of life by depicting every character teaming up with students from various schools.

I actually enjoy the stories of most of the Grand Theft Auto games, sure sometimes they're almost directly ripping off movies or television shows, but I think all the little plot twists in them make it suspenseful; and when I'm not in the middle of a car chase with police shooting out my tires I like doing side mission for the extra background on some characters. And even other games Rockstar made have good storylines Red Dead Redemption for example was a great story in my opinion,
