I bet most people have clicked on a spoiler comment thinking its a spoiler of the anime and not the manga or light novel. I know I have, and it stinks. I think that Crunchyroll should implement a button when you click "spoiler" when writing a comment. There should be two buttons, a button that says "Anime Spoiler" and another that says "Manga/ Light Novel Spoiler". Does anyone agree with me?

I feel like we had this discussion topic already... But, you could always write at the time in bold letters and/or using a header. That what I used to do when I discussed series that were adapted from the light novels anyways

I've read spoilers before and regretted doing so but that has never happened to me

If you're referring to forum posts, I think common sense is sufficient. The system works well enough as far as i'm concerned when people are actually using it properly

However, if you're referring to video comments (as I initially thought), then I agree that some added layers of protection may be helpful - since you can't really preface the spoiler with any information in video comments. I did get occasional manga spoilers from video comments which stunk, or spoilers from later episodes which also stunk, but I don't know how common that sort of thing is

I'm moving this to the Suggestions / Feedback forum, since as was mentioned above by Renji_Tamaki there is already a discussion thread in the Anime forum regarding spoiler tag etiquette.

I agree that if users would be sharp enough to hit the appropriate special spoiler tag button in forum posts , they should also be sharp enough to preface their spoiler with enough info to indicate if it's a manga spoiler, or perhaps even not a spoiler at all (since they are also commonly used to hold large images, or large amounts of quoted text, or just an especially long explanation.)

Because right now you can't "label" spoilers in video comments, the intention is that folks simply shouldn't put anything outside of the episode being commented on in the comment at all--the spoiler should indicate spoilers related to only that episode (though that is often not followed and probably isn't even officially stated anywhere). I agree that it would be helpful if people were able to label their spoilers in comments instead having the whole comment be hidden with no clue as to what might be inside.
