I just recently got back from visiting my in-laws in Ruserville AR, and every time I visit them I always come back with some cool anime stuff. The city is not very big, it has a population of about 30,000 and it has a little bit of every thing. Mexican food is becoming very popular. The first time I visited the city, it had many small video game/dvd stores. All with a large anime inventory. One of the stores had a great selection old NES Japanese games. Now Ruserville only has about 4 places to go but all have a great selection of anime products. The biggest store hasting has a whole aisle dedicated to anime dvds and small section dedicated other stuff (toy, figures, model kits, stickers, cards, etc). I live near the Houston area and I can find that many places like they have in Ruserville. This is the reason every time I go I take advantage of the situation. My anime collection keeps getting bigger thanks to Ruserville AR. "Now I see why Arkansas is a state."

Anime fans are generally friendly where ever you go, whenever I spark up an anime related conversation with anybody it's usually well received on both ends.

Forums are hosts to nonsensical debates and are full of epeen, so that's a no-no.

If the city has a population of 30,000 I guarantee it's bigger than where my home is. I say my home because I currently live where my college is. That aside, I'd like to visit this little town, an aisle full of anime DVDs sounds nice, though I'm not really into purchasing DVDs.

As far as an 'anime-friendly' place...? Can't really say. I was in an anime club a couple years ago, but they watched everything in dub, and I just don't like dubs. And I went to a convention once........two words: NEVER. AGAIN. So yeah, probably Crunchyroll.

I live in South Africa. here were in the minority when anime is concerned, people here are also really close minded and see it as either childish or pornography. i discuss it with a few of my friends and thats all........unfortunately

The only safe haven is probably CR....thank goodness for that

Sanity, our local music/dvd store. It has a whole section devoted to anime, and of all the dozens of times I've been there, I've never seen anybody else browsing through it. But anyway, a few times one of the cashiers made some small talk with me about anime. At least they are open minded about it here.

Eh...not sure. Every forums tends to be different but I'd say animenewsnetwork in most cases unless it's one of those news topics where there's something that is controversial.

How many of you have been to Gencon? Can't get much more anime friendly than this.
