I haven't seen too many anime movies but this one was my favorite so far. It had fantastic animation, great music, and what I felt like was a great story (though I did have a nitpick issue or two with the story). Also it is the first anime that I really enjoyed both the sub and the dub version. If any one has any recommendations for other anime movies I would love to hear them.

This is one of those stories I think I'll treasure forever. There are still frames that just remembering them puts a knot in my throat. Definitely worth a purchase, I had it preordered before Funimation released it over here last November.

It's the only movie of any kind I've ever had to pause so I could collapse into tears.

I just bought mine from Amazon. Just have to wait for it to ship, which according to them. It might take a week for them to ship it out. Don't really know too much about it, just that everybody says good things about it.

Look up Satoshi Kon and Makoto Shinkai's videography if you haven't yet. Vastly different styles but great anime movie directors nonetheless.

Just watched it for the first time, an amazingly heartfelt story and a tribute to how tough single moms are (thanks Mom!) The wolf kids playing around is one of the cutest things I've seen in recent memory. Heartbreaking but understandable ending- just more proof how awesome and resilient Hana is! Now off to watch Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (also by director Mamoru Hosada)- why haven't I seen these yet!? The burden of an otaku- too many titles to watch in addition to current simulcasts!

didn't like it

i'm not a fan of tragedy and i also don't like endings where someone willingly leaves close family/friends. well, in general i don't like anything sad lol.
