Video buffers endlessly

I watch CR through the Viera connect app on my 2013 ST60 plasma and have done so successfully for three-quarters of a year. However for the past few days, the app won't play any video. It may or may not start the video for a few seconds and then it endlessly buffers the video. The user interface works as always. The problem only occurs when trying to play a video. There haven't been any changes to my internet set-up. Any suggestions as to what I can try to fix the problem?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Have you tried restarting your router?

The router has been restarted a couple of times. Haven't tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app yet. If I still have problems, that's next on the agenda.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Viera app because the new cable modem didn't solve all the problems. Since then, the mid-stream buffering appears to have let up. I haven't had a chance to use the reinstalled app much though. (Real life interrupting anime watching. Bah. Humbug.) But there's definitely been an improvement.
