What are some animes that you like that no one else does? Weak or corny titles that are generally made fun of or ignored, but you have a special place in your heart for them, anyway? You know they aren't that good, but you like them regardless.

My picks would be:

Akikan
Charger Girl Juden-Chan
Ramen Fighter Miki
Carried By The Wind: Tsukikage Ran

Oden-Kun

I dunno what would be considered "bad" it's subjective. I'd consider Lucky Star awful even though i enjoyed it but then most people would be like "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LUCKY STAR IS GENIUS HOW DARE YOU"

"Bad" would mean like it has a thin plot, or a ridiculous subject matter, or bad animation, just generally not a well done anime that isn't really popular, either. I guess the best way to put it would be:

If animes like FMA, Code Geass, Clannad, Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, etc... are the quintessentially "great" animes of our generation, what would be the opposite of those as far as story, character and animation quality? That would be "bad".

BTW: I hated Lucky Star, too. Couldn't get past the first episode. I don't understand the appeal for that or Excel Saga.

Probably the worst anime I've seen are Angel Cop and Odin: Photon Sailer Starlight. One anime that's so bad it's good would be MD Geist.

Oh god Angel Cop. I'd forgot about that piece of crap. I think maybe Project A-KO would fall into that it's so bad it's good catagory too.

Fate/Stay Night, the Deen Adaptation, is famously/infamously panned for being a pile of pathetic low-grade crap.

And it's one of the most common Guilty Pleasure anime I ever hear people love to hate.

I mean, you have a Female King Arthur working with Some dude in a assassination battle royal against an 11-foot Hercules and a DD-cup Medusa with purple hair. Add to it magic and epic weapon-based combat...
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THE SHIT OUT OF THIS?

I still don't get why people don't like the anime, actually. Usually it is the VN defenders that come in and say stuff about adaptations or whatever... But, I have also played the VN, and I can tell you that, while there are a few important character moments between Saber and Shirou in the VN that the anime did not really cover that made so that they had more chemistry then the anime depicted, the Fate Route is still down right boring compared to the other two routes and the anime did what it could to at least make it interesting enough to watch for 25 episodes. So, I guess you can throw me in with you on this series... even if I don't think it is that bad. XD

Another one would be SAO, however, I don't think that one is "bad" either... just misguided compared the the Light Novels. As for TRUELY bad anime........ I don't think I like a whole lot of those. <.<'

*narrator voice* The story of one man who hates everything so much that he will kill the Hell out of it, even if it's not alive.

M.D. Geist is everything about '80s anime distilled into a pair of great (if rather brainless) movies.

The trick to Project A-KO is that it's actually making fun of a lot of anime clichés from its time, so, if it seems bad, look closely; they're doing it on purpose (and tweaking its nose a bit).

I don't think I know enough Anime to like something that is considered bad...

Also going by what was said was "bad" here small shows without much of a fan backing would be considered bad...

From here on CR i'd probably put my vote in for Lucky Star, while it is popular, it is equally popular from what i've seen for being considered horrible because of Art, Animation, Plot, pretty much the whole thing for some people. I personally loved it.

Another show was called I think it was The Legend of Legendary Heroes... or something like that. Wasn't exactly bad... but it falls into the doesn't have much of a fan base so was forgotten after like a year.

I've not played the VN yet, but I'm on course for it, having completed Muv-Luv recently.

Which, Muv-Luv anime...I keep hearing to stay away, and when I see it I doubt I'll like it, but if I do it will be in here, because I have no doubt of the shows bad at this point.

BACK TO FOCUS. Fate isn't a good anime, we all know it! Shirou is sexist, Saber has crappy communication skills, Hercules was totally robbed of a win, and so much content was cut, I was scratching my head more often than admiring it's story.

You know the anime is bad if they couldn't figure out how to remove all the H-scenes. Or as we know it as, "the most painfully infamous threesome scene that for some reason involves a CGI Dragon"

But, ANCIENT HEROES FIGHTING IN MODERN DAY JAPAN? HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THIS.

Guilty Pleasures my friend.

Since saying a anime is bad is a very viewer to viewer matter I would think this is a hard discussion to have without arguments breaking out. I mean what I consider "bad" another may consider a penultimate viewing experience. So in the end I guess I'll throw out a few shows that I found really enjoyable despite the glaring issues.

1. Devil Hunter Yohko - Basically the first anime I was introduced to this one has a high nostalgic rating and is fun even while it's awful.

2. Kiss x Sis - This is actually rather underrated as a show, it's uncomfortable and hilarious especially the fanatically over the top OVAs.

3. Upotte! - This show is a ton of fun, no nothing ever really makes any sense, just enjoy the ride already.

4. Kanokon - Another just enjoy the ride show, it's ridiculous and outlandish and that makes it work.

5. School Days - a poorly executed attempt an a anti-romance, it gets high marks for just how poorly executed it was.
