Of all the Manga CR offers (there isn't much yet), I've latched onto Fort of Apocalypse. I searched the Manga Forum for a thread specific for this manga and only found snippets in response to polls. So, I decided to start a thread just to talk about this manga in hopes I might find some people who really like it and want to share their thoughts.

At first I thought it was a typical zombie story but that didn't make it less unique. Every story is unique in its own perspective and writing is everything when it comes to enjoying even the most stereotypical plot. But I was surprised to find that the "cause" behind the zombie phenomena was not just a genetic mutation but points to a rapid evolutionary development in humankind. I don't claim to know what's really going on but somehow, this angle seemed fresh to me and I'm really interested in the overall plot as well as the character development.

I could write a lot more but I'd prefer to 'converse' with others. What do you think about this manga?

Well, there's a lot of violence in this manga and this whole zombie apocalypse thing going on. I'm going to remain optimistic about the plot although I'm not too interested in it anymore. There's also a sense of mystery going on so I expect readers to have a lot of questions..

I don't find the violence affects me much. I've always noticed that if the story is good, the violence or gore aspect barely touches me. It's a good thing, cuz I doubt I could watch or read much of anything nowadays. I'm usually into the characters and I think that they've given some good back stories for the each cellmate that I'd like to see more of. The 'mystery' isn't so distant that I can't guess what might happen, yet is enough that I'm not quite sure. It's a balance to keep readers interest.

Thanks for the reply. I honestly wasn't expecting much.

Also, I was able to continue to read this even with the violence because I'm currently a fan of "The Walking Dead". The same reasoning applies there. The character interactions is the attraction and the zombies are just tools to achieve extreme situations. However, the zombie causation isn't as impressive as Apocalypse, I feel.

I'll be honest. I don't think much of it. I started it, but it seemed pretty heavily focused on the the "Gross! zombies!" factor and not offering anything very interesting. I did try, but there was really nothing giving me any hope that I'd start actually being interested, and because I felt no optimism about the plot I stopped reading. Unlike stark, I don't get a sense of mystery (it would help if I did); just a a sense of mindless gore and a goal of how many ways can we draw mutilation...*yawn*

Have anyone noticed that there are about 10 or 12 pages missing in the latest chapter that was released recently?? Where can I bring this issue to CR's attention so that they could upload 10 or 12 pages?
Thank you for your help in advance!

I believe the issue has been fixed. I just checked the chapter 28 and all the "missing" pages are no longer broken. I was able to read them.

Thanks to whomever took time to rectify the issue!

I'm not sure what the problem is. I didn't have any missing pages.

I've began reading the manga and I am simply hooked. Having no problems with it so far, imo.

This part made me laugh
