Just as long as it's a happy ending, I'll be grateful of whatever the creator has in mind for us....OTL I, personally, am not very masochistic and do not enjoy being traumatized ;.; Might just be my anxiety talking, but I'm glad he's trying to be more considerate for us!! o:

A typical happy ending? or A good bittersweet happy ending?

Hmm.....well, obviously I want all my favorite characters to live, and I'd like some sort of explanation for everything u _ u Maybe the humans are the bad guys and the titans were sent to kill them all off WOAH New theory *0* .....anyways, I'm hoping for an original happy ending, the writers are super creative, I'm excited to see what they can come out with

no integrity at all. changing the ending of YOUR story to cater to ANYONE is bullshit. same thing that pissed me off about Bioware caving to whiny fan-things concerning the Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco.

I know the ending was expanded, but how exactly was it changed?

I think it's funny people are upset that an ending we haven't seen is being replaced with an ending we haven't seen. Plus it's his story he can write it as he sees fit and he can change it for any reason he sees fit. If the ending sucks and we learn of what specifically he originally had planned and find it better, then we can complain, but I wager these two endings would have just as diverse a fan-base as just learning about it already has.
Plus if his story was solely for his enjoyment then he should not have changed it, if it was for others to enjoy as well then it's not fair to question him for doing what he felt he was setting out to do from the beginning, it may not be a good thing as a writer but if that's who he is as a person, then that's who he's going to be.

Personally I'm glad it hasn't turned into Blassreiter, but I hope it wouldn't turn into a long runner either. I just don't feel it has the story to do so without dragging out significantly and becoming boring.

Implying?
I thought blassreiter was pretty fun and great as/is, of course potentially it could have gone further but in no way was it bad. Right?

True, i thought it was refreshing but a little weird at the same time.

Majority of these comments, people want to characters to die a gruesome death instead of killing the Titans. I rather have some characters die and the others live to see themselves grow old. If we're gonna have everyone die, it should be an all out massacre when humanity kills the Titans but die in the process.

Is this thread referring to the anime? What is this topic even about?

what i think is funny is that the guy who created both Gundam as well as Space Runner Ideon (kill-em all Tomino) commented on how he thought that AoT was violent and that the mangaka was kill crazy. perhaps words from a respected senior in the animation/comics industry caused him to take pause and reevaluate his original story?

Welp, I think I am dropping AOT as my favorite new show/manga. I like Orignal intent. If you find your franchise is doing well and needs to have more content or you want more life..... MAKE A NEW SIDE PLOT WITH certain side characters main focus as a spin off. Look no farther than Railgun as spin off of Index plot that hit it out of the park. Left alone the Index plot but allowed all the stuff people wanted see come about. (I want more Index to see the more about that side though.)

Yeah. I remember that. Could that probably be the reason or no?

I still think people are jumping the gun a bit here about what could or could not happen in the end of the series. Both could have been good endings, both could be bad, or it could be gone one way or the other. Who knows? I know this much, though. Isayama seems to know what he is doing when it comes to writing, and I will trust the overall judgement of the creator until I see something that says that his writing is slipping. I don't think he will be writing himself into a corner like Kubo, nor do I think he will degrade in quality story-telling like Kishimoto. Heck, it seems he has ideas already on how to seamlessly overt traumatic ending he originally planned, and who knows WHEN he started to change the story in general. It is also possible that just because it isn't as traumatic as originally planned, it does NOT mean that it still won't be completely downbeat and rather depressing. The only way to know is to wait it out when the series ends. Have some faith, guys. XD
