1st of all drifting is expensive and the only people who do it have money or is incredibly stupid and want to show off. Drifting is cool to watch but the damage to the car is insane after 1 round of drifting. Your tires wear a lot faster, the alignment on your car gets off line, your brake get excess heat, your axels and rims are screwed, your clutch and master clynder can break too. Its just too much for 1 show

why say something you only heard about and when you have never done the sport at all? i respect your opinion and credibility and all but its kinda like why do people skydive to dive from the sky to fall back on earth and do it again....waste of gas flying a plane in the sky just to drop people to fall back from the sky down back on the earth and repeat it over and over for the fun of it.... we have people here that drift from crunchyroll and alot of norcal socal guys... this sport is all around the world...just remember ...we aint rich maybe some are...but we just work hard for what we love to do....its not something we just want to look cool...but its something we love to do and everyone else just seems to just dig it and build interest in it and later becomes a passion and sometimes passions of desires change....but from your post you just posted....you know nothing about drifting ....experience it before you talk about it...other then that....understand before you speak of it in a wrong term...but it is a risk you do take in drifting....axles dont really get ruined and rims dont get screwd so easily and damage is nothing...but accidents happen like a person getting hit by a driver while walking in the road....just remember people make mistakes all the time its just like drifting...but maybe you just see alot of it because you watch alot of videos and TV... but you do take a risk taking your driving skills to the high limits of control at a track which is the safest place to be...your bound to lose something for the sacrifice...but you learn more to better yourself in the end of the taking....skill is something you have to work on like anything else "if your learning, you are building skill".....it doesnt just appear from thin air.....your judging a book by its cover already....you havent even read the book yet...but then again...you havent been in the writters shoes...but i am only stating my own opinion...and i highly respect yours...but trying to hit different views to open minds..........

QFT man. i respect that and sorry if i seemed to disrespect drifting i didnt mean to i was just typing at work so i was rushin. but i love the sport i just think that its too costly. i have drifted plenty of times. i drive a Z32. but its just the way the economy is today i dont recommend drifting unless you got money cuz like you said many things can happen. i didnt mean incredibly stupid but you have to admit there are some tards out there that only rip the e brake and dont even gas it and just slide and i think those tards are incredibly stupid. True drifting is beautiful. but yeah man your words were good man. so off topic what kind of car you ride?

just a green 240 coupe...ive been drifting for a bit 3-4yrsish....its pretty spendy if you do it pretty and nice...but with some budgeting you can do it...just dont spend much money and make sure drifting is what you really wanna do...other then that....make sure its worth it before its too late you just spent some money down on parts that your already thinking about getting out of the scene already...so spend wisely and spend on what you need to start drifting ...not stuff like bodykit and rims...they can come later....suspension as long as you can adjust and all ...fair riding shocks...and camber and toe and tie rods that are adjustibles is a plus....but not bad your self...sometimes im a prided idiot on drifting ...but maybe its just im passionate about it...

Drifting isn't really easy at high speeds, only an expert can take advantage from it in a race.

well so far just suspension work and minor drive train mods....rear toe upper and lower rods and rear camber kit, rear upper and bottom c-piller, wicked inner&outer tie rods and tension rods ,gab coilovers but theyre getting sluggy....act pressure plate with exedy 6puck, prolight 11lb flywheel, 22lb 1peice aluminum driveshaft, bored throttle body and test pipe 3in apexi n1 evo exhaust...use to have kaaz 2way lsd but now rollin with a welded diff....nismo thermostat and upgraded water pump, mishimoto radiator runnin electrical fans, glow shift oilcooler....yeap... and pretty much its riding on sportmax 002's with slotted rotors...still rollin the stock ka prepping to go ka-turbo so yea...pretty much it... dang where i live is lifeless...theres a drift event on the 3rd of january. i think ima call in sick that day for a day of fun....what about your 3z?

well im not sure what kinda race ur talking about but usually its good to just grip the turn....drifting is just wear and tear on the tires, brake and suspension...if its a race with another car on a circuit, depending on the car drifting is only good if its a drift competition...not a circuit race....but drifting is fun though....lol

so im guessing you've never seen a grip&drift showdown before...you need to watch some option videos...gymkana would change your mind on most things....its a fun sport yes...thats why i never went back to autoX or dragracing but you should know your facts before presenting them....in a race with grip and drift ..knowing when to drift and when not to drift is a key factor but society today rarely have these events anymore...but have two of the same cars with same hp go at it...but depends on how the track is as well...theres an advantage and disadvantage to every diverse sport....sometimes just saying something from the looks of it isnt really true...theres always a catch....some times the hand is quicker then the eye....as to every saying....theres always a way when theres a will....in my experiences....uphill racing is all about grip the more tq and rwd has the advantages of more traction....but down hill racing is totally opposite....thats why most grip racers back in japan in the early stages of drifting had problems going down hill through hairpins having to slow down a big amounts with having to have the rpms dropped out of the powerband and this is where heel-toe was used alot....thats where drifting developed as a key to winning down hill races...you dont slow down as much as gripping and using down force as a key of physics to work your car to slide around a hairpin with out having your rpms drop out of your power band and with the right suspension tuning and tire traction to carry you from the entrance hairpin to the exit with a speed going sideways faster then a grip car...was why drifting developed very fast....when this first started people were scared to even whip there tail out and the ones who did and survived it, well it was cool to see...but as drifting uprised as to seeing someone fully drift a hairpin with out spinning out into a 360....it was just way awesome...eventually someone got very skillfull into drifting and started taking wins "ala drift king tsuchiya"....and as it was back then in the 70's and 80's....it is what it is today...in other words...every motor sport has its ups and downs and histories of how it developed....sometimes just working around things and knowing your stuff puts you away from the crowd in example like knowing your motorsport education.....do people care? maybe yes and maybe no....but atleast someone is throwing out knowledge that alot of people wouldnt know because...its not looked into detailed and for sure like any philosophy majore student or professer says....know your shit before you open your damn mouth...understand a subject of any substance either if it may be a person, place, feeling, position, emotion, thing, or even just a life living subject. that is how sometimes you understand things better to acknowledge your own minds and thoughts with you knowing a subject or you dont know...remember knowledge is a tool in life....use it...if you say something that you think you know...say it...but be prepared to be looked upon up or down society will judge on there own views and life understandings...but sometimes...its better to keep things in if you are not sure yet...but you just wanna test water if its clean or dirty....its like an question on a test you think you have the answer to but should you put it down and if you got it wrong you can always learn it right the next time or you wish you should of knew it before you did the test...or you could of just left it blank lol....these are things why sometimes people say things to be looked at as the perfect image but when saying things in front of people that already know what the deal is....sometimes it is best to give a knowledgeable food to the mind body and soul...but we are only human and live and breath and say things on what we experienced in life...so meaning i respect it all but this is what ive seen and lived on about drifting...just its a knowledgeable thing that im not trying to correct anyone but ....open your minds view and see things another way before "another one bites the dust"....i got that from a song...

still drifting is cool to the end....neways guys hows them crunchy rolls?

actually i have seen JDM option dvds.....I have seen D1 Grand prix and my fav D1 driver is Ueo Katsuhiro.....hachis 4 life
thats why im saying drifting is a great motorsport but shouldnt be used in races cause its wear and tear on the tires and brakes could overheat

hehe dang you went all crazy on saintvalentine earlier..hahah

lol what turbo are you going to go? you need to change up your coils, and a 6puck? is it supposed to be oem pressure plate? fuken madd stiff clutch, must grab like a motha~ haha mines on a oem style pressure plate, so i got the stock feeling with the hard bite. you gymkhana with a welded?haha i see people go 1.5 or 2 way maybe but i dont think weldeds that great for gymkhana (depending on their setup i guess) , haha i tried to "grip" turnbull with a welded. uber understeer so i just started drifting like couple turns down. i think driftings a lot slower on turnbull, but i haz a stoooopid weld haha. lol a bit loud isnt it? i used to run 3in dp to 3" blitz nurspec and that was soo loud i switched it out to a apexworldsport exhaust bah

saintvalentine im not rich either, ive been working since i was 15, helped my dad out for a few years made money, bought my first 240,and i get money from school i also have a full time job so puleeeees (fob status) dont judge all us drifters XP and we dont really waste a pair of tires in 1 run dude. haha maybe professionals, even still they get few runs in before they swap it out, tires dont go by that fast as you think. and alignment? my alignments fine, i have whole adjustable suspension coils blah blah blah

and i dont even know what i was trying to say the whole time, damn the prescriptions..
