I'm pretty dang broke, so handwritten cards and knit gifts. A skein of yarn usually costs about $6 and thats two hats right there or two pairs of socks. Pretty grateful for my hobby at times like this <3

It seems like I always see a common theme on Crunchyroll.

Anime fans = broke :P

Hand-made stuff is great, though. I don't think there's too many people out there that wouldn't appreciate something that someone spent a significant amount of time making from scratch for them. :)

LOL! I think that's because the majority of the people on crunchyroll are under 18.
I agree! and actually, the gifts I enjoy most are of that variety as well. Like little memorabilia stuff my best friend has made me and cards <3 I love to re-read them when they have super person stuff in them.

So basically, you're calling me old!

I kind of wish my own family had the same imagination I do when it comes to gifts. I always get socks and underwear from them. I don't know about the rest of the people out there, but I don't need 20 pairs of brand new socks on a yearly basis. And I grew out of Ninja Turtles boxer briefs a long time ago.

I already picked out some used books for my partner, since that's what we get each other every year. The rest of my family will either get books I find for them or blank books/book-like objects I make for them.

Father: 1/2 scale Leg Lamp from "A Christmas Story."
-I've been meaning to get him this for about 10 years now, and though I'd prefer to get him the full-size one, it's kind of pricey ($40 vs. $160).
Mother: Charm for her Pandora bracelet / necklace
-No other good ideas.
Older Brother: ???
-I haven't spoken to him in a little over 2 years now...
Younger Brother: Homura Akemi Nendoroid
-It's his favorite character...

Nephew: ???
-Have no idea what he likes.

We only give presents for kids. This year the girls are into Transformers Prime so just gonna get them some action figures and Transformers shirts. Also, they are really into Frozen so got them some Elsa dresses and dolls.

That's pretty lame! My mom usually asks me what I want and gets something along those lines. Then I'll end up getting some gift cards from other relatives. I find the trick is to not have expectations, then you wont be disappointed lol
I kind of miss getting a stocking and having a bunch of candy from it.

Nothing, I'm broke as broke can be.

I'm making homemade cards, food and knitting things however. All those cooking classes came in handy! Now I can make everyone fat <3

The great thing about kids is that they're really easy to shop for (and please). It's like, hey kids we're going to the dollar store! And to them it's the best thing ever. All the treasures a kid's heart could desire for a dollar or less.

I think I had every model of cap gun ever released in the early 90's
