If I work like an 8 hour shift starting at like 8:30 am then on the night prior I will stay up until around 5 am just because I don't want to have to get up and go to work. Lol that is the closest thing for me.

Ah okay.

Never! It's just not wise or sensible at all! Especially if you're really knackered out the next day from doing so!

It's a habit I can't seem to break.

I do it too much. Get in the creative groove and next thing I know it is like 1 am and I have to get up at 5 am to go to work. Thankfully I get by on five hours a sleep a night, but still that is pushing it for me. Thankfully across the street from work is a Starbucks.

OK, 36 hours, 2 work shifts, and countless dungeons run and items crafted in FFXIV. Time to take some sleepy medicine and sleep like a log.

I feel you, went through that all that last year (2013).
Sleep only 6 hours. Work 12 hours 3 days a week. 2 part time jobs up to 40+ hours and part time college.
I cut down on one job to go full time college.

Actually that was 36 hours straight in an attempt to fix my biorhythm; kept getting up at noon and going to bed at 2-3 A.M.

Didn't work. (if anything it made it worse) Guess I'll have to do worse to myself next time I get 2 days in a row off. I once went 70 hours without sleep (also an attempt to fix my biorhythm), so I'll be OK. Gets really awful though.

I also do this. Every single time I need to be somewhere or do something early I never go to sleep like I'm supposed to. I have this thing where I'll be about to go to sleep or dozing off and just like that poof Im wide awake and somehow fully charged. Thats not even the worst part, after doing this once I get trapped in a loop where this pattern becomes the norm and the only way to get out of it is to stay up for 24 hrs so that I'm tired enough to goto bed when Im supposed to. Classes this semester are going to kill me 7:30am everyday

That 70 hours without sleep sure will kill you mentally lol. I know I did managed 2 days fully. It was stupid, said I'd never do it again but it happens with life.

Yup, all the time. I have survived on only 1 hour of sleep once. I was a grumpy bitch all day but I survived

I did this a lot when I was in the army. Especially if I know we had to do things like 5-10 miles run for morning pt. Ever since then I always found myself thinking sleep is a waste of my time. But then again now on my days off work when I do sleep well, I find myself not wanting to get up. I usually end up hitting my snooze button several times until I see that its like 2 hours past the time I set the alarm. I still think sleeping is a wast of time, c'mon it takes up 1/3 of your life away, but my body contradicts my way of thinking.

I do this every night. Though it's now the holidays and it's got much worse (staying up until 7am) at least I can sleep in a bit.

So you are good just sleeping four hours? No tiredness, headaches, or anything?
