Considering all the unwarranted disrespect Yato gets

That reminds me of a point I was going to make earlier.

I find it fascinating how, despite the fact that Yato is supposedly a loser god, and a god of calamity to boot, he has a LOT of people who actually care about him.

Kofuku and Daikoku both obviously care about him (Kofuku enough to threaten Bishaman, and Daikoku enough to attempt a dangerous ceremony to save Yato); Tenjin likes Yato enough to tease him and let him sleep in his shrines; Kazuma comes to save him; Mayu also comes to save him.

And there's Hiyori, as well, with Yukine sort of moving that direction.

I don't necessarily think it is a flaw in the show, but it's very interesting to see how well loved Yato is by those around him.

I agree with you in regards to some of the characters caring about Yato, but i think you might be giving some of them too much credit. He is a god of calamity, but that cruel past is...well in the past. You are left with a cheerful god doing meager tasks for 5 Yen, with a dangerous past looming over his head. Kofuku most certainly cares for Yato; that's pretty much her nature anyway. I feel Daikoku cares for Yato, but that is mostly swayed by his master, Kofuku's care. You can even see before he accepted doing the ceremony that his one concern is Kofuku; as it should be.

My main concern is Hiyori and Yukine. Before when they were ignorant about his title of god, it would most certainly be considered disrespect how he was treated. The insults (i don't see that as "teasing") really IRKED me and turned me off the show because Yato is such a great character, and they were so unnecessarily frequent. Over time sure Yukine learned his place, but Hiyori is still a little disrespectful brat. That is the flaw i see in the show. Caring is a different story.

I like that Noragami keeps things simple and easy to follow and focus on the characters when it's not showing off its mindless action.

Oh, and Yato is a bum and a moocher. A bum with a heart of gold, but a bum nonetheless. There's a good reason for this that's explained in the manga and
If Hiyori and Yukine knew the truth of his pas they'd probably be calling him much much worse.

But as for being unfinished well... of course it is unfinished! They didn't even finish the manga that's been written already. No way it could be finished without a real anime-only ending which wraps things up so well that it couldn't be picked up again.

I hope they will be doing a sequel but I'd actually be surprised if it got a second season.

I know that. After thinking about it I should've said that the ending didn't give any closure to the series. It's probably because there were a lot of things that were shelved, for instance Bishamon's hatred for Yato, that would have developed more had they'd been given a wider time frame to work with and more source material to play with.

But hopefully, I can anticipate a second season that can tie the loose ends this left.

I will say this was my surprise out of the winter anime. I didn't know what to expect. I haven't read the manga so I cannot compare one to the other, but I will give it an 8.5/10. I think my favorite character out of the whole show was Hiyori. One of the more sincere, lovable, comedic, and just good natured persons I've seen in awhile. Animation quality was epic. I'm very satisfied with how it ended.

Just saw the last episode today. I'm sad to see this one ending. This is definitely my favorite anime this season. I hope to see a season 2.

Got bored of writing regular reviews, so I did something a bit different for Noragami.

How much Catholicism can one guy pull out of a Japanese show based around the Shinto gods? Find out over at my blog. Be warned, it's a bit of a long read.

Enjoyed the ending of the series; the one flaw is that Nora didn't get her comeuppance! Nora's father? Wonder who that could be.

well if we get the next season , it will most likely show more of Yato's past . It will reveal how his relationship between, Nora, Bishamonten and Kazuma and it has yet to resolve Hiyori's situation as well.

So I am really hoping for a second season ..

. this title was my favorite and in my top 3 for the Winter season.

My favorite anime of the season, really good characters and plot, along with solid anime and sound. Nothing I could really complain about either, except for the fact it needs more to be finished.

Finally saw the ending. It was a fun ride. One of the best of the season, not like that was tough to do....

Gonna give it a 4/5. A really good show.

i marathoned this days after it ended and really enjoyed it! I loooved the action scenes. Caught up to the manga too... well, it was more enjoyable in animation, but I do like the story. Here's hoping for season 2.

I liked it. I wished that it wasn't just 12 episodes though. The anime original part seemed a tad rushed because of the time constraint. Still, it was a good ending that feels the right amount of open and complete. A really good end to the Winter season for me I loved the main trio and didn't hate anyone I wasn't supposed to. Eagerly wait for season 2.
