We know that James Cameron will eventually make his movie based on Gunnm(better known in the US as Battle Angel Alita), and since Gunnm Last order is such a long running manga now for Kodansha in Evening, certainly an anime would also help promote the heck of the manga.

Somehow I can see that being huge with the action anime fans here on Crunchyroll.

it would be fun to see some of the fights from Last Order and what have you but they would need to start from the beginning and start putting out anime based on the original run. i would absolutely love to see an animated Moto-ball sequence and a lot of the characters would become fan favorites.

i would also really, REALLY like to see Desty Nova finally given some screen time. he is one of the best villains in manga and is single-handedly the best mad scientist in all of literature (yeah...he is that fucked up and evil).

Anything Gunnm would be nice after all this time. I was thrilled to hear that the manga was up and running again.

My worry is that Mr. Cameron's movie rights include anime as well since... well, he's going to animate it Avatar style perhaps with real people blue screened in too but he doesn't think he can do it without the Avatar style CGI animation. Avatar was supposed to be a test but now he is doing sequels so still no Gunnm movie.

Last Order is in fact ending this month but a new Martian War Chronicles or somesuch is coming as another spinoff series.

Yes, it is ending. I wouldn't joke about that. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-01-02/new-battle-angel-alita/gunnm-manga-to-start-in-2014

Volume 19 and perhaps 20 of the tankobon need to come out but in the semi monthly magazine where it is published, the final chapter comes out January 28th.

New series working title is Mars War Chronicles, Kasei Senki 火星戦記
