Now don't get me wrong, I love short and sweet, but come on, they're long for a reason, they've gotta have support from the fans to do it, so why the hate? It's gotta be good to be long.

I think cuz it drags on too long and it feels like it'll never end and the longer it is.....the worse it gets if they run out of ideas.....like bleach.....for me bleach ended when Aizen died....but not all long animes...there are some good ones =P

I liked that after Aizen died in bleach they went back to the whole Quincy vs Soul Reaper thing, it was nice. But most of the longer shows I've seen haven't gotten bad as they dragged on, except One Piece, I honestly don't understand how it's still going

Sadly a lot of anime fans I've talked to dislike longer running series. Chatango is full of them, each time I chat on there while on animefreak.tv they tend to dismiss people who put longer shows in their top 10, or think it's just down right silly in some cases

Its the time you have to throw at them..... Thats why I kind of don't like many of them. GITS and Brotherhood and Gundam 00 are my exception because of how well they work it when they use that time wisely.

Aizen didn't die. It's important to me that people know.

I don't have a problem with long-running shows in general, just those that I feel are wasting my time with pointless filler and such. If you have a 50+ episode show, but every episode feels meaningful and vital, then by all means make a long show. It becomes a problem when it starts to drag on and it's clear that they are just trying to stretch the runtime. A lot of those shounen series could easily be condensed into about half the episodes without losing much in the process. Like I said, I just feel like the show is wasting my time. I honestly even like some of those shows but it can start to feel more tedious than fun to watch them at times.

I never feel like devoting 100+ episodes worth of time to one series. Simple as that. I like to watch a variety of anime and being tied to one series for so long doesn't sound good to me.

Also, with a lot of longer series the phrase, "Beating a dead horse" comes to mind.

But a lot of the times Fillers are to push the space between the show and the manga, which I have no problem with. Also, if the show is good enough I feel as if it isn't tedious or time wasted. Naruto just has too many fillers, point blank. Bleach has fillers in places where they attempted to push the space which I have no problem with, same with Fairy Tail. And it is pretty hard to have meaning in every single episode

I think I just died of laughter, dead horse? And I've seen a lot of shows and devoted plenty of time to longer shows as well...maybe we watch at different speeds, I've seen too many shows in one night stands, it's pretty sad that I have that much time on my hands

Lots of fillers in series that go beyond 26+ episodes. Not all but a considerable amount do. A minor conflict in a show should only last 10 minutes in real life but took the show 4 episodes to progress anywhere. Losing interest...going...blah..

Death Note was pretty good up to a point, than after 3/4s of the series the show took a weird route when you're thinking, "it should be done by now" and the writers decided "no , lets add more just because."
On the other hand, FMA: Brotherhood, Shugo Chara, and the original series of Pokemon & Yu-Gi-Oh where refreshing

Well Brotherhood was strict on following the Manga, that's why there are qualms with it, it was released after the manga finished I believe as well so they didn't have to wait and impose fillers either. And I get what you mean when fights are drug out, they do get boring but some can be done right

For me, I only stop liking super long shows if i feel like they have these extra long arc for example. Bleach / Naruto came into mind because of their horribly long arc. Bleach's Arrancer arc is one of the biggest offender. When an arc is going for more than 40+ episode i just started to get tired of it. That is why i am not tired of Fairy Tail because story arcs are not super long.

A series can go on for years, and i won't get tired of it if the story arcs are not ridiculously long.
