So you're trying to present this as " As in all forums, compare/contrast moderators?" because its sounds pretty close to a rant thread on CR mods.

As with all rant threads, they are classified as spam, and are usually locked and closed because they add no productive discussion.

If this isn't the case, then a re-name of your topic is required.

Just like I have been saying that from his post it does not appear to be a rant thread as no specific incidents were included and no moderator from any site, CR or otherwise, has been named or accused of any of the things that were listed.

Well I think this thread will be gone soon since it seems to have gone off course... don't see the point of the flaming... maybe I didn't look too hard at what was asked but it seemed legitimate... (if someone wants to point out where it isn't i'd be glad to take it into consideration though).. if I understand it right he is pretty much asking what you consider pro's and con's of either being a moderator (if you are one on another website) or your interactions so to speak with moderators (here on CR or elsewhere)

If that is the case:
Pro's (I guess) would be: quite a few moderators actually interact and join in conversations, though in reverse there are some that sound like automated messaging systems.
They keep forums clean, or at least try their best doing so.
If they are support mods they tend to help quickly.

Don't really have con's... of course I only go to legitimate forums that are not usually plagued by the disease of stupidity I have seen plague the internet.

So yeah that was my take on this... but I doubt this thread will live too long past my post.

Again thank you for your contribution, but alas this is far from a rant thread as the purpose of this thread is to Also explore the positive things about moderators :>

Again this thread is not exclusive to CR moderators but to forum moderators in general in which case i believe to have labeled this thread accurately.

Guilty? because you quoted an empty area?

nah, I just have to decide whether to be amicable or not.

Knock yourself out folks, but if it turns into a flame war anywhere, it gets shutdown.

carry on.

That makes no sense if you Referring to ALL mods since forums can be completely different.
I have been to forums where all mods were good and forums where all mods were terrible so you need to only target a specific one in general

Yay! I think you're awesome if that counts for anything but it probably doesn't.

Great! And if you would be so kind as to share what the good traits were from the good mods and the bad ones from the terrible mods, that way others can learn form your experiences.

Not really. If he wants to make it broader and be about pros and cons of all mods then that is his prerogative. If people don't feel comfortable trying to participate in something that is that broad then they can just opt out of responding or specify where their experience and thoughts are coming from.

Such an arrogant thread. 1 Pro, 6 cons, it's crystal clear to me that this was just an excuse just to whine about moderators.

Pro: They keep some form of order in most cases which allows the forum they are moderating over to seem more like a friendly community instead of being filled with nothing but arrogant assholes who will only bash newcomers for every thing they post regardless of the content.
