Black Holes????

Replicate gravity yourself. Push a piece of cloth flat and drop a marble on the middle. Black holes are your usual star, but denser.

Black Holes aren't actually holes.
They are super-massive objects with a gravitational pull that is so powerful, it even pulls all the light within a certain area towards it (rendering the area "black", because it "lacks" light // the light can't escape from that area, so we never see it).
Imagine an incredibly powerful magnet, if you must (but never say it's like a magnet or physicists will murder you.)

And no, you can't travel to another dimension or gain superpowers.
All it does is tear you apart, smash you, or kill you in other cruel and painful ways.

Of course there is a lot more to it and some of this is heavily inaccurate, but I don't think the average person needs to know more than that.

You'd get crushed by gravity.

... no seriously, that's about it.

Almost comical, if you've ever taken 6th grade science you'd know this.
Black holes are an opening in space itself, caused when an object of great mass causes a rupture (like a star going supernovae). Nobody knows what would happen if someone went through a black hole, because they would be dead. To put in perspective, you'd be stretched out to about the thickness of a sheet of paper. However, there are a set of opposite occurrences, known as white holes, that shoot out matter.
To answer your questions directly, time doesn't exist in a black hole. There are no physics, time, light, anything. As for the light thing, its not about speed, its about direction. Black holes have an infinite pull of gravity, and light has a finite speed. Anything with an infinite pull will inevitably take what has finite properties.
We don't need to necessarily see black holes to know they're there. In all reality, we have no proof. The concept of a black hole is all theoretical since we technically can't prove it. Usually scientists determine where they are when light is obscured, because the hole will pull the light around it inside. There are far more than we know of, because we can't see them all.

Wait so by what i'm reading everyone is saying that if you went through a blackhole that you'd die? well this whole time I thought a black whole was like a "rip in space?" were it was connected somewhere else. like if you were sewing and folded a garment in half the string would jump from one end to another location....... Maybe i'm thinking about wormholes or something?
I also thought this happened randomly and that one day a black whole could popup near another galaxies sun and shoot it out near ours and then we'd all just burn up from the heat it would be almost instant so it wouldn't hurt or anything....... O_O

Well okay they weren't blackholes but those "Warp Gate" things that's what I imagine a black hole/wormhole to be like. except that one was man made (alien made) but in space it could just happen :p

You'd probably end up in dead.
