Wouldn't it be awesome if Arc System Works developed a fighter where Matoi played similar to Ragna, Mako like Teddie and when Satsuki players inputted 214(x2)+D they got a shorter cinematic version of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhOC5kREQS4

Indeed. The games you mentioned would go great with Kill La Kill. Let's cross our fingers.

Here's another idea I know it'll never be done

I want to play as one of those creepy gorillas from Princess Mononoke.

OP, I agree. This would be amazing. I will say that I am a LITTLE upset because I thought there was a possibility that a Kill la Kill fighting game was actually in development when I read the name of the topic.

You know, I always felt something was missing with Kill la Kill. It's as if it were an anime adaptation of a game that doesn't exist. a fighting game of Kill la Kill would be really great. But when I look at Kill la Kill, I honestly think It'd be better if it were a hack and slash title. To me it makes much more sense this way because, all the main people she fought up till now would be bosses and the One-stars/fodder Two-stars would be obstacles in a free-roaming level, I could already see all the levels in this format:

Level 1 Ryuko vs. Boxing club captain boss fight
Level 2 Ryuko vs. Tennis club captain boss fight
And then you'd have a free-roaming open world where you can challenge other school clubs until fighting bosses again
And when you're at the elite 4 you'll gain the uniform power-ups she's displaying now.

If I were leading Studio Trigger I would seek a game-developer to make such a game

Ofcourse a fighting game would be definitely great I'd be maining Mako right away since I main Teddie XD

Now that you metioned it, this reminded me of what happened with the game Senran Kagura. It started as a beat-em-up (I got it on my 3DS.) and then it was converted to an anime.

I have the feeling someone will do a game based on this, but not in the near future.

I can see why you'd think a Kill La Kill fighting game would seem like a good idea: Combat focused with an array of zany characters, but I'm not so sure it would be a good thing.

One reason why people seem to be enjoying KLK at the moment is because it's fresh and exciting; will you care about it half as much once you've finished the series and the merchandising machine has gone into overdrive? Plus, do you really want a lazy fighting game adaptation? From Arc? It'd grow stale pretty quickly once the novelty of "It's a KLK fighting game!" wears off and the three people who are still playing it a month after it's release are doing nothing but moaning online because "Mako's overpowered and totally needs a nerf".

The biggest reason I want it to be developed by Arc is because there's no such thing as a bad Arc System Works fighting game. Even when it's not their IP. Persona 4 Arena became the fastest-selling fighting game in history and one of the greatest of all time without breaking Persona feel or canon. Anyone well-involved in the FGC knows, Arc System Works is the devs to go to for a Japanese fighter. Plus, imo, this would be the best thing for the series when it's over. Like P4A for Persona 4; it prolongs the IP through the infinite replay value of the "Warrior's Way" that fighting game have.

I think if it were like No More Heroes, that would be a game I would play. A fighting game sounds great too, but honestly, the club leaders and student council seem more like bosses than playable characters.

I'd rather have an action game for Kill la Kill developed by Platinum Games. Think all the fluid combat of Bayonetta but with the characters and setting of Kill la Kill.

This would be amazing. I can only imagine what Platinum could do with Kill la Kill. I've loved pretty much every game they've made.

Indeed.

I think Kill la Kill's setting works better with a hack n' slash / beat 'em up type of game as opposed to a one-on-one fighter, especially considering how Ryuko had to fight a bunch of One Stars early on in the series. The Two Star wearers can either be sub-boss type enemies or just stronger enemies flanked by One Stars. The Elite 4 would clearly be the boss of a specific level (same goes for Satsuki, Nui, Ragyo, etc).

Slightly off-topic, but since we're talking Platinum Games, Bayonetta 2 is going to be amazing

Yup. I will probably end up buying a Wii U before a PS4 or XBOne just because of Bayonetta 2 and X, crazy as that may sound to some. Games sell consoles, at the end of the day, and the majority of the PS4/XBOne titles I'm really interested in will be available for PC which is my platform of choice anyways. But that's another topic for another thread :P.
