wouldn't really say I hate any anime, but there are ones I certainly dislike

Bleach
Death Note

Naruto
One Piece
Hitman Reborn
Dragonball Z

all pretty much for the same reason. Its not that they have a bad story in my opinion, its just that each story arc could have easily been finished within 2-5 episodes but they just stretched it out until its lasts 5x longer, then they have a few filler episodes where its almost like a slice of life anime for a while until they start the next arc. thats why i really like detective conan. they usually resolve something within the same episode, so i dont have to be left with a cliffhanger ending waiting for the next ep most of the time.

Hey everyone, first post here .

I totally hated the second part of Sword Art Online. In my head, it all ended with the first part and should have never ever continued. It lost almost everything that was appealing about the first part, and even that had its series of anomalies. The first part was great, but it was also quite random, flew through interersting subjects, lingered through some other mediocre themes, and had a lot of potential that wasn't totally used. Still, that first part came out through just ok. The second part totally destroyed some characters, added useless ones, and the overall plot was terribly moronic.

Being ruined by second parts "could" be said about Death Note, but the first half was soooo legendary that nothing could completely ruin the series afterwards. They did try, though (curses at N). After becoming a loyal follower of Death Note, a lot of people recommended to me Code Geass. I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed at all. Maybe I should give it a go.

I really disliked Naruto, but then it finally got very very interesting in Naruto Shippuden, in spite of consisting of 85% filler episodes. Wish there could be a summarized version, that would totally rock.

Anyways those are my 2 cents.

Basically, you like episodic anime.

I wouldn't say hate but I don't like either Fist of the North Star or Samurai Champloo. North Star because they didn't have good fight scenes in a fighting anime and Samurai Champloo because... I watched it and thought it was pretty mediocre, the animation, sound and fight scenes were good but the characters and plot were pretty bland and felt unintentionally shallow.

Haruhi Suzumiya.

Not so much hate, but disappointment, for all of the raving I heard about it. It was not the Endless Eight that killed the show's appeal for me. That was a mild annoyance that I knew would be over if I just stuck with it. No, the thing that really bothered me about the whole series... was Haruhi.

A little bit later, I picked up Lucky Star, and I actually enjoyed it. I was worried, because I had heard people say that it's almost as good as Haruhi Suzumiya. But I liked it better.

You can hate or dislike any popular anime series you want to just stay away from the hardcore fan-boys and fan-girls out there.

There's a reason they call them fanboys. They're not really fans.

Not really. i just hate REALLY REALLY long arcs.

Usually that has to do with battle scenes. Most arcs are not much longer than 15-25 episodes and detail enough of the story that it does not matter and is hardly noticeable... as long as the arc itself is good... Naruto and Bleach tend to... lack that most of the time... One Piece has consistently good arcs, though, and the only ones that REALLY drag are Sky Piea and Fishman Island (which REALLY does not have to be as long as they made them...)

Anyway, anime I hate that people tend to rave about... There really are not that many. I find something good in a lot of popular series and get why they are liked. Going through this topic, I am rather surprised by quite a few series listed that I find amazing myself.

I guess the closest series would be Lucky Star for being... bleh, and Neon Genesis Evangelion for having no real likable character. Oh, and maybe current Naruto crap. However that has more to do with the story imploding in on itself and having very few good things going on... especially since the start of the Ninja War... ugh... Really, everything since the fight with Pain ended has been mostly shoddily written at best, and a complete disaster at worse.
