"hate" is far too strong a word to use on any anime.
however, the first thing that comes to mind is death note. yes, i've read it. i've watched it. it's a good series, it really is. but it's not as good as all of the respect it gets.death note gets FAR too much hype for what it is. but i still like it nonetheless.

I can't really say I've hated any show I have decided to watch. I won't go into disliking a show just because I don't care for the type of show. (I'm not into shounen type shows so I don't watch them).

I generally like comedies, slice of life and drama shows so when taking only my personal tastes into consideration I will say the shows that many liked but I just could not get into is Amazing Nurse Nanako ! OK that was just to get your attention........LOL\

I just could not get into Cowboy Bebop. I have watched the series twice and the movie twice. I just don't understand the attraction. The character designs are bleh. The story seems to be a random piece of forced comedy. The music is pretty good however. I just don't get how this one show has become the end all for so many people. One thing that rates a show for me is if I can get past three episodes before falling asleep in my chair. Cowboy Bebop hits me just right. I suppose if I needed to get to sleep one night I could fire it up and guarantee sleep.

Well, the one thing about deathnote is definitely the Manga which was extremely well done. Most of deathnote fanbase probably originated with that. This leads into my anime dislike.

Same issue, is the manga good? I dunno. But I have been unable to stomach even one episode of One Piece. Mostly the animation style and just ludicrousness of it.

Oh hell yeah! I can definitely agree! The only show I've liked from them is Nichijou.

This thread seems to pop back up now and again in various forms. I suppose i'll stick with my main anime i don't like which is highly hyped up by a huge percentage of anime fans i talk to.

Elfen Lied. And it's not because it's really short or about the fanservice or the lack of depth to any characters it's because of the self indulgent jackasses that wrote and directed this thing. Seriously it's like something wants to beat me over their head with their rainbow of "LOOK HOW EDGY I AM" it just feels like the Director is constantly poking me in the face "Look we killed a puppy and we have child abuse isn't that edgy and dark! I am so off the wall aren't i? Oh yes i am here have some more child abuse and limbs ripped off isn't that fun?"

NO IT'S NOT FUN IT'S BORING. I'm not even some PC wet blanket who hates the idea of child abuse in anime either. When child abuse is handled well and it's meaningful to the story development like in Mardock Scramble or She: The Ultimate Weapon then it's great. When it's just used as a tool for the director to fap over himself to it's just really dumb.

So in short it's too pretentious, the story goes nowhere, the characters are dumb and sitting through the boxed set just filled me with boredom and made me crave the deepness of Serial Experiments: Lain for the 5th time through.

Not at all why? It's one of my personal favorites and one i could sit through many times and find something new and i think that is what is great about it. It has deep layers to the story which on the surface is about a girl who becomes a genius hacker and the two groups fighting to get her to join their side one a religious cult who believe God exists within the internet who believe Lain is the coming of that God and another side who are like the secret Police trying to enlist her to track the cult down. The rest of it deals with the idea of what is consciousness that has been dealt with in Buddhism and Science trying to work out what it means to exist.

Nah, just wonderin' cause a lot people say it's a mind trip or something or other. I get the gist of it well enough and yes, you can always discover more about it the more you watch it. So, I also take it by your avatar that you like the darker, thought provoking shows?

Well sure i enjoy a good psychological thriller. Not that i don't enjoy other genres too it's not fun to throw all your eggs in one basket. But yes i like Lain, Ergo Proxy and Texhnolyze for the same sort of reasons i enjoy the movie Blade Runner. I am facinated by the dark yet human worlds they are set in and because they really make me think.

I've tried starting One Piece a few times but I really dislike the art style and I can never even get through the first episode.

I kind of liked Dragon Ball as a kid but now I'd like to travel back in time and smack myself in the back of the head. I don't get what I saw in it.

Evangelion was decent but completely ruined by the ending. Made me wish I hadn't wasted my time watching any of it.

FLCL - All flash and no substance

Naruto - finished first couple episodes, not really my thing
Bleach - couldn't even bring myself finish the first episode, just got really sick of it [of Ichigo]
Death Note - storyline and characters pissed me off, Light and Misa, especially
Pokémon - stupid, in my opinion, and really childishly cliché and repetitive
Code Geass - okay in the beginning, but Lelouch started reminding me of Light and began pissing me off (I lost all interest when Kururugi figured out that Lelouch had the Geass, that was the breaking point for me)
One Piece - hate the art style (I do take the art style highly seriously: if I don't like the art, I don't like the anime/manga)
Soul Eater - kind of cliché, and the characters pissed me off
Hetalia - all of the main characters had annoying voices and pissed me off (*cough* Italy *cough*)

Maybe I get too pissed off too easily. That, or I have some subconscious thing against mainstream animes.

And to be honest, I can't even bring myself to watch animes like Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball, and Elfen Lied. I don't even want to watch them, I can tell that I'd hate them.

I do not like One Piece or Naruto, both, in my opinion have annoying protagonists and for me to enjoy a protagonist I need to be able to relate to them in some way.

I do not like the Rurouni Kenshin anime. It has way too many fillers and it doesnt even have the real ending.

Brother's Conflict. (Although, maybe "hate" would be too strong a word...)
I like watching romance anime sometimes, so I somehow came across this show on Hulu. I was okay with the first few episodes, but as time went on, it seemed like the brothers just randomly fell in love with the girl for no apparent reason. This combined with the nagging feeling that some of the older brothers shouldn't be attracted to this one 16-year-old girl, and the fact that I could never understand why her pet hamster (or whatever it is) could talk, just made the show impossible for me to enjoy. I only finished it in the hope that SOMETHING would happen (plot progression, etc.), but instead it gave an open-ended ending.
Also, I didn't like the girl. Too much like Yui from Diabolik Lovers--no backbone.
