What's your all-time favorite?

Mine is

Kanojo Tachi no Ryuugi (彼女たちの流儀), or "Their Styles"

Genre:
Vampire, Incest, Cross-dressing, Eroge(18+)

Year: 2006

Manufacturer: 130cm

Usually, vampire eroges have horrible plots. But this one, is a legend!
In most eroges, you have to get into somebody's route, start dating, and do other stuff in order to get to the H scene, but this one, you get 3 H scenes within like first 15 minutes of playing. Games that are focused on H scenes usually don't have good stories, but this one is different. It has a sad background story and it goes on as you play the game. There are 6 heroins in this game. 2 older sisters who are vampires, 1 maid, and 3 other girls from school. The main character will cross-dress in some of the routes. On the picture above, the one on upper right corner is the main character, The rest are the heroins. In some games, the heroins have the same physical characteristics, for example, they all have big boobs. I'm not a big fan of big boobs. This game gives you more choices with the physical characteristics. If you like big boobs, there's the maid and the one with glasses. If you are not, the rest of the heroins are just awesome.

Btw, this is the one of the first work produced by the artist who drew High School DxD.

If I had to choose, my favorite VN would have to be:

Ever 17: The Out of Infinity

Genre: Science fiction, bishōjo, romance

Year: 2002

Publisher/Developer: KID

What I really liked about it was that you had to play through it 5 times to get the full story and the true end. I liked how I got a little piece of the story every time through. I do wish the game was a bit more available so I could suggest it to friends. Maybe one day it will get reprinted.

Having just completed the Muv-Luv franchise, it's rather high on my list right now. Them production values is what sold me, but that story was quite an engaging time spent.

Katawa Shoujo is also rather amazing, and I would say more worth the play through. Katawa Shoujo's Non-Jaanese root's really show in the writing, and it was a huge breath of fresh air compared to all the usual stuff. For a fan/indy VN, it deserves heavy praise.

I was actually in the middle of looking for a quote that you've re-reminded me of!
From Valve, "Piracy is almost always a service problem"
I want to play Ever 17, I really do. I've even got a stack of cash just waiting to be taken. But it's not exactly accessible.

In kanojo tachi no ryuugi, you have to finish all 6 routes to unlock the true ending. And those 6 routes all have amazing stories.

I have 2 of them...No, 3. I'm just going to state 2 of them. Too lazy to find the last one.

The first one is pretty obvious, but for those who don't know:

DRAMAtical Murder (DMMD, ドラマティカル マーダー, ドラマダ)

http://vndb.org/v5916

Genre: Shounen-Ai, Science Fiction, Romance, Comedy

Developer: Nitro+CHiRAL

Description: A time far in the future.
In Midorijima, an island to the southwest of the Japanese islands.
People and nature once coexisted on this plentiful island.

However, due to being purchased by the leading company of Japan "Toue Company", one third of the island has been changed into the extravagant amusement facility "Platinum Jail". Equipped with the latest cutting edge technology, Platinum Jail has gathered attention. On the other side, the islanders who became victims of forceful development are forced into the "Former Residents District", and have no choice but to carry out their lives in a place that is by no means prosperous.

The protagonist Aoba spends his days working part-time at the junk shop "Heibon" inside the Former Residents District, living together with his grandmother Tae.

Among the young people of the Former Residents District, a certain game has become popular. In "Liebstiez", teams are created and days of human-bullet turf wars unfold. On the other hand, "Rhyme" is an electronic brain online game using a virtual world as its setting which "Rhymers" are going crazy over. Aoba shows no interest in either one, thinking that it would be nice to just live peacefully with his grandmother.

But the disaster that will shake up those peaceful days has already begun...

---

The reason for playing DMMd because it had captured my attention. More like the plot (And no, not the fan service) had caught my attention. When the Yaoi rolls around, I just skip it because it bores me to death. Sure, I like romance but scenes like that bore me to death. (Shrug)

DRACU-RIOT. Didn't really find anything I disliked in it. It didn't have too much unnecessary drama like certain other VNs imo. Majikoi was pretty good, too.

Usually, vampire related ones don't have good stories but obviously, there are exceptions. "Aka-san to Kyūketsuki"(Mr. Aka and Vampire), a game that was released 11/29/2013 had weak plots but really good graphics. "Kanojo Tachi no Ryūgi" on the other hand, had amazing plots.

Saya no Uta. Very short but so twisted. I can't even say which endings are the good ones and which are bad.
