Same here, been this way since last night. Loaded up the app, instant crash. Logged out of app before it stops working. App works fine.

Did this issue get resolved? I am curious how smooth the HD is on this device if one has it wired into ehternet and has a fast internet connection. I'm starting to consider this device as it seems to support crunchyroll in HD and it also supports XBMC which is attractive to me. If the device has trouble streaming HD I'll skip it.

Well, the issue must have been resolved, since the player doesn't crash on me. The device itself has no trouble streaming HD over ethernet (YMMV on WiFi) , but the app has recently been experiencing the same issues with intermittent stuttering and freezing as the browser-based player.

Thanks for the reply flamepanther. Sounds like the hardware itself handles it fine and crunchyroll has problems. From what I gather the app for this device is being used as a base for a more general android app so hopefully it will be resolved soon. Amazing they can allow problems with the browser based player and so many devices as this is their core business. Hopefully they will be in a state I can go premium in the future.

I decided to go ahead and get this device. If nothing else I can use XBMC on items on my home server. If I can get lag free HD I'll go premium here. I chose this over other XBMC solutions as there is an official app for crunchyroll so one is not stuck with crunchyroll takeout (which is a wonderful and appreciated effort but has its issues).

I did get the OUYA and found it worked fine with SPMC (an alternate XBMC) sideloaded and Crunchyroll works great in HD except during "prime time". I also put a MELE F10-Pro remote on it to make it more pleasurable to use. I am wired. Anyway my experience is positive with the device, Crunchyroll just needs to increase capacity IMHO
