What are your views on life?

Do you think life is fair, cruel or both?

What do you expect out of life and why?

When life brings you down, what do you do to get back up and keep moving forward?

My view on life is it sucks.

I think life is cruel.

I expect more misery and pain.

I do nothing to get back up because the world has broken me.

We are born for nothing, live for nothing and die for nothing. That is the meaning of life.
I just do as I please until I eventually die.

I feel like i'm gonna get crap for this, but here we go:

From my perspective, life is an impossibly beautiful gift. The fact that I am able to ponder my existence is absolutely amazing. The connections that we all share and the intricacy of it all is astonishing. I'm a mass of energy that can contemplate itself... the balance that has to be struck to achieve such a feat is wonderous.

Life can be fair, and it can be cruel, but in the end life is what you make it.

I expect that I will be able to share my happiness and help at least one other being find their place in the world. I know how hard things can be, even in the most ideal of conditions. I know how it feels to be lost. They're feelings that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but it is an unfortunate state that many deal with... I also want to try my best to live a life that I can look back on with as little regret as possible.

When life brings me down, I just remember that my fate is in my hands. I can follow any path I choose, and I can succeed with the right amount of determination. I also try to remember that in time everything will settle into it's rightful place - worrying solves nothing.

What about you, OP?

I got to say, that was very beautiful, lol. Well for me, it's a different story. I'm completely lost and not sure what to view life as anymore. I think life can be both very cruel and also very fair at the same time. Me being a prime example. I expect happiness, but I've yet to find that happiness. Why? Well, maybe it's because I don't know what happiness is. I see others happy, but wonder how I can achieve such a thing. I've yet to get back up after what has happened to me, but hopefully I'll find my way soon.

I'm pretty sure we all have a purpose. But hey, if that's your view, that's completely fine!

If it's any consolation, consider this: If I had to answer your questions a year ago, my answers would have been more in line with your reply. You never know when the answers you seek can present themselves - make yourself open to that possibility and you just might be surprised by what you find. Feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like to talk.

Life is fair cruelty. I expect nothing. I surround myself with joyful things to raise my mood.

Let's see...life blows.
It's both cruel and fair but we shove the cruelty in peoples faces more than the good fair side of things.
I expect to be mostly bored with life until it ends simply because I have very few interests left.
I sleep. Sleep is a wonderful nothingness that hides all the problems of the world for a short while.

Life is on no one's side, you can't make life notice you so why would you want to notice it?

When something in life brings you down you keep yourself together like cufflinks and put yourself first, everything else is relative

The way I view life: Life has no meaning and it doesn't need one, therefore we shouldn't try to give it one either. Our existence is pure luck (if you've studied eras of the Big Bang and learned about particle annihilation), and rather than believing or dedicating your lives in something that no one can prove (God or gods) and believing that there is a place waiting for you when you die, one should live their life to the fullest and make the best of the one, small amount of existence we are fortunate to have. I'm not trying to bash on religion but I feel religion holds people back from making the best of their life and enjoying things. Life for animals is survival and to procreate but we've procreated past our natural purpose. The Earth's population is over 7 billion. Our planet can only support 10 billion. Life is hard, cruel, and by no means equal. School shootings, famine, disease, ethnic cleansing, terrorism, poverty, environmental disasters, war - it's all unfair and the average person is powerless against it. Am I being gloomy? Yes and no, but that's a part of myself being a realist. Live everyday as if it was your last. For all you know, you could be driving and someone's error could be your last. With this in mind, please don't use having one life as an excuse to indulge in bad habits like alcoholism or drugs. Be responsible. Happy living
