wondering what is the best audio setting for crunchyroll. The ps4 has 3 options DTS,DOLBY or PCM

As it is rare for Japanese broadcast audio for anime to be anything other than stereo, PCM is likely the way to go.

do they remaster the audio when they bring it to video then.most newer anime i buy has at least 5.1

Are you listening to the dub or the original Japanese audio? Most dub soundtracks are indeed 5.1.

Just checked all my anime series. I guess most of theme are 2.0 for the Japanese track one example that was not is Clannad it says DTS HD MASTER AUDIO 5.1 for both the Japanese and english track

That could potentially be a remaster by Sentai. Clannad was a title that was originally released by them in only subtitled format, but re-released later with a dub. Companies rarely bother remastering the Japanese audio track when they release with a dub, but I could certainly see them doing it for a sub-only disc.

In one of these threads is a response by hpulley, who imports a lot of titles from Japan, confirming the audio format of most recent titles.
