I don't really do anything special anymore lately, since I'm busy with work ._.
I just have a few people take me out to dinner
Oh, and my family got me my favorite ice cream cake, that's it
No one gives me money anymore /sobs

It's just my birthday.

We have a family tradition that if it's your birthday, you get to decide what's for dinner and don't have to help with the daily chores. That's about all that happens, in addition to the usual cake + ice cream (maybe) + presents thing.

I've never felt the need to celebrate my birthday. I certainly appreciate the greetings, etc., but I don't go out of my way to plan things or whatever. I just want to be low key about it, I suppose.

My birthday is on December 18th. It used to be celebrated on its own, but over the years it's been merged with Christmas. My actual Birthday is just any other day now, but I do have a small birthday party and gifts on Christmas (outside of normal Christmas gifts). I can't say it's bad, but it's a little sad that it's no longer what it used to be. This happens with age, though. You'll find as you get older that your Birthdays become less special.

But, being self-sufficient I don't mind. I mean, I can buy pretty much anything I want at this point in my life and have no real desire or need for anything that my family could afford to purchase for me. So, the gifts are a bit redundant. What I do value is the time with my family and that's, to me, better than any gifts they could buy me.

if by "nice" you mean nothing horrendous happening every year, then yeah they're nice

I have had two extravagant birthdays, first one was on my 16th and second was just last week, lol, for my 25th. Two very extravagant, as in I went all out with the food/catering, and double layered birthday cakes... huge cakes lol.

Next year, I'm thinking of hiring a yacht and do it with just my family (6 people in total). I'm not rich or anything, if I'm organising a party, I like to do it properly.

I don't even celebrate it. I just treat myself to buying an anime DVD then watch it when I get home = )

I'm fond of birthdays. I immensely enjoy the attention, the gifts, the cake, the food, the free drinks at the bar, and the company. I usually drag a lot of my friends out to celebrate including some friends I don't see all that often so it's a real treat for me.

And since my mom and I have the same birthday, there's always a nice family party as well.

My family doesn't do celebrations, for the most part, and it's really just another day to me. This year, though, I got a wonderful surprise from someone I love dearly.

It used to be a huge thing pre-12 years old. Life goes on and now I sometimes miss my own birthday. Just this year I slept through the whole day or at least a total of 20 hours. Doesn't mean I don't go out of my way to do something for someone else.

I've disliked birthdays for so many years, and I don't celebrate mine either. Love the food on b-days though.

Birthdays have never been a big deal to me. I actually get a little annoyed when people say happy birthday to me despite the smile I give them when it happens. I typically try to just ignore the day when it comes up.
