I receive fewer gifts every year, haha. I suppose that's a sign of growing up.

Now I will just go drink and party and eat with friends. My birthdays are not very memorable.

It used to be such a big deal when I was younger. I held huge birthday parties and would invite all my classmates from elementary school. I don't enjoy the attention that much anymore. In fact I don't plan anything anymore lol. I still receive present from family and close friends, but that's about it.

All my major birthdays so far had something bad happen on those days.

But birthdays in general I don't really do anything.

On my birthday my wife and I may go out to a restaurant I like and I get a small gift from her. Other than that, nothing special. Birthdays tend to lose their importance the older you get.

Mines always in the middle of summer so we always go swimming. :D
I also get to pick where we go for dinner in addition to the normal cake + ice cream + present.

Depends on your interpretation of "nice."

I think they're pretty nice.

Not really. My birthdays are unremarkable or awful.

Case in point:

One birthday, I was out in the cold Oklahoma mist training. We were supposed to set up an antenna, but the training field was on top of an old parking lot. You can guess how well it went.

My last birthday just last week, I ate a bad apple fritter and ended up sick. Finally threw it up about 5 minutes before dinner, breaking my years-long "no puking" streak.

I would be lying if I said I didn't hope I would have gone out to dinner at a restaurant or something for my 16th birthday, instead I got 50 dollars and two school uniforms (I attend a school that requires you to buy their uniform). Well, that was last August and my family never was well-off, but we were doing particular bad during the time of my 16th birthday, so I was simply happy to get what I got.

Every day feels the same. Boring.

My birthdays, huh...?

I have many fond memories of them, so I think it's fairly accurate to say that my birthdays are "nice." Even if the only "celebration" is me buying myself a cake, my birthdays serve as reminder of my youth; however, recognize that birthays have a dark side. I'm acutely aware of the flow of time and the limit of the human life span. Every year gained is another lost. With my next birthday, I only expect to have about 50-60 years left, at most. Woohoo...
