I don't think the age matters at all. It's the interests and personality of a person that gets me to befriend them. Infact, I've often preferred talking to older people. As the teenager I am now, most people would talk about phones and relationships of which I had no interest, and as such I found it easier to hold a conversation with teachers at school. I could, of course, act immature or goofy because of my age, but as far as conversation went I've always had more mature or niche interests. In terms of interests, I found it easier on my work experience to talk to one of the employees who was probably in his 40s about the next-gen consoles, than I ever would to a teenage boy about football.

I think you're amazing xD

Well, I suppose that's one word for me lol.

lol.yes it is

Do not have friends, but many acquaintances that were older than I, we got along okay. No other opinion besides that about them. I felt partially more connected and comfortable around older audiences, I guess because of my past experiences with individuals my age or younger.

I agree with the other respondents here that age should not be a main factor to focus on, but I somewhat disagree in terms on adult-children friendships due to child predators.

I honestly believe your quarrel is with predators, not friends.

The way I grew up, there weren't a whole lot of people my age so I naturally gravitated towards hanging out with older people. Now, I'm the old one of the group and I sometimes feel awkward.

Older friends are really the only one's I can get along with. Especially with the kids these days lol.
My best friend is 20 and I'm 15.
And when I was 11 I had two other friends who were 3 years older than me

Being the older friend can really suck. "Mature" means you are the dumping grounds for all emotional problems (relationships, school, family, whatever). tbh, having younger (like 5+ years) friends is like baby sitting. They get a source of advice and life experience and you get to deal with their drama. Maybe I'm just bitter from having shitty friends, though. I'm sure not all younger people are assholes.

Personally (being an OLD one) I find that as you get older, it's less about the age difference and more about who is fun to hang out with. Sometimes that's close to your age... sometimes not. You tend to learn how to gravitate towards those you enjoy and 'maturity' doesn't always equate with age.

One of my favorite movie buddies is a retired ex-coworker. She's a kick for 'drinks and a movie' after work (likes to rub it in that SHE isn't working). She looooves sci-fi and action movies, and she doesn't have many female friends (in her age group) who get excited about seeing Star Trek or pretty much anything with 'guns, fast cars and explosions.' So I've become the 'OOOH - I want to see that movie! When are we going?' call.

Heh heh. Always fun.

If you don't mind can you add me as buddy?

I say this expecting answer like "ewww that is creepy ", not being child predators.

Friends are friends.

Sometimes I run out of things to say and it's awkward, but who cares? Those are the times that may or may not sprout random funny conversations (which I enjoy).
